"As a family with children aged 10 and 12, we absolutely loved this resort. The pool was invaluable to be able to have time for ourselves to relax as well as the children. Buffet was great and the manager was amazing. Our children loved watching the baby reef sharks swimming next to the jetty out the front of the resort. Would highly recommend to both couples, individuals or families as they offer something for everyone. "

"This is the perfect place to stay on the island if you don’t want to pay £300 a night or stay in a hostel/cheap chalet. We were in one of the blocks. Don’t let this put you off! The rooms are beautiful, clean and have everything you need. We booked 3 nights and ended up extending our stay by 3 more…we could have happily stayed even longer. Coral bay is great, a few bars and places to eat, shops, movie nights and cocktails and wine at Ombak and of course access to dive/snorkel and water taxis. Plus at coral bay you get the most gorgeous sunsets and they have amazing places including a little secluded beach to watch the sun go down. It’s just a 10 minute walk to Long Beach which is more lively and nicer for sunbathing and swimming. The pool was amazing and we loved our night swims. We didn’t eat there except one breakfast which had everything you can imagine including noodles, curries and more - if that’s your thing! If we visit Kecil again we will hold not hesitate to book the Shari-La. The staff helped us book our return journey and also provided fresh towels etc on request delivering them to our room within minutes. Some people mentioned bugs - but basically if you leave food out the ants will find it! Apart from that a few cute gekkos who snuck in the bathroom window. But everything was clean, beds were super comfy, aircon was powerful, shower warm and we absolutely loved our stay. "

"Wowza! This was one of the best 5 day asian island resort experiences we've had on our travels. The resort has gone through a full refurbishment in the last couple of years, so we were delighted to see that most of the negative feedback has been listened too and actioned. Do not hesitate to book. All the staff - reception, restaurant, cleaners, concierge, footmen and management - are so friendly, helpful and enjoy a sense of fun, whilst all being totally professional. Our room was clean fresh with clean linens and towels. Sometime it takes an issue to truely rate an experience and we were absoultely blown away at the attentiveness and resolution. It turned our experience from 5 star to 6 star. We will definitely be back!!!"

"Stayed in renovated room. Nothing exciting about the rooms. Drab bathrooms. Food not worth talking unfortunately (even the local food is boring) about but plentiful. No alcohol allowed on premises but smoking is allowed everywhere. Wifi only at reception area. Pool seems to have under repairs for sometime."
