"We have just had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is huge but so tastefully done and built in a way that if you want to find quiet you can, if you want beach you can, if you want activties there are many on offer, it has something for everyone. The rooms are lovely and it is incredible to believe that you are in a country where so many people do not have power in their homes or running clean water and yet this hotel has 3 beautiful and immaculate pools, as well as numerous rooms...

"The food, the service and the amenities were very good. It is a beautiful property and the staff are so helpful. There was some noise from the construction next door but we didn’t really notice it very much. The company running the diving and snorkeling excursions on the property were very organized and professional. There was entertainment 2 of the 4 nights we stayed. The Italian dinner night on the beach with dancing on Saturday night was a nice treat and the acrobats on the Friday night...

"This is the second time I visit Mvuvi (July 2023). On the positive side the new hotel is very nice especially the new swimming pool. The food is unfortunately not the same standard as last year and inconcistent. Sometimes very good and sometimes disappointing. The service is also too slow. I also believe the prices for excursions and watersports are too high. We did all activities outside of the hotel at much lower costs. "

"I really love this resort and I highly recommend it for anyone in USA hoping to vacation in Zanzibar Tanzania. I am from Houston, Texas and I have made VOI my vacation spot in Tanzania. This is my second time taking my fiance to this resort and I just love the hospitality you get once you step a foot into this resort. The manager was very awesome and the staffs are probably the best people you can ever meet in the world especial Massai Name Daniel whom I call my friend and Malik at the front...

"We loved having a 3 bedroom suite with a living area and private baths for all. So nice to be all together yet in our own space, The food was good and the service was too! Unfortunately the property isn't licensed. That's the only hesitation I would have on returning."

"Staff seemed unhappy Although the advertisement says non powered water sports are included that is not true. It is a hike to do anything from the hotel such as boring diving, tours etc Everything is at least an hour away. High tide eliminates the beach. Low tide brings droves of annoying “beach boys” selling everything- they are very persistent and will kill your desire to swim in the sea. Hoses on the beach look nice but know what they will leave behind - nothing done to clear that"

"All the staff were Excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable and they go above and beyond for the guests. One even offered to escort me to where I needed to go. I was thankful but declined as I was confident that I could find it. I definitely would return to this hotel again if I ever came back to Tanzania, which I plan to do."

"Lovely place to stay. Food was ok. Room very spacious and beautifully decorated. Massage was absolutely beautiful. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the manager was a bit of an opportunist and will try get extra $$ when he gets a chance. Overall beautiful place. Would definitely recommend."

"Lovely property in a quiet corner of Stonetown. Great swimming pool. Historic quality of hotel added a charming feel. Most rooms overlook the ocean. The amenities were complete and the room was very comfortable. Spend a little extra to get an outside balcony or verandah. The staff was wonderful and helpful. There are lots of restaurants nearby. I can't speak for the food at the on property restaurant since I had to leave early and skipped the breakfast. I would definitely stay here again on a Stonetown visit. "

"Spectacular views, excellent service with lovely people, top notch menu and cooking, peaceful, serene and luxurious. Was a glorious stay for our honeymoon. Can’t recommend it enough. Shout out to Moodi for handling all our arrangements, Emmanuel for making our dinner experiences special (what a talented singer!), Jesca, Rose and Abdallah for their excellent service and warm smiles!"
