"There is a good bit of distance between each of the four tents, so it feels completely private. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. It’s the best of both worlds: the tent is equipped with everything you need for self-catering and braai, but you have the option of eating at the lodge restaurant too. "For couples rooms, there should be one double mattress to improve in comfort, our room had two separate ones placed together with a gap inbetween. We didn't know that we had to pre-book game drives and missed the afternoon one which we had rushed to check in in good time to be able to join but were told it was fully booked. Aside the above, all was excellent. "

"Friendly, warm welcome from Martcha (spelling?) the receptionist. Great activities. Loved the cheetah encounter, bushman walk and game drive. The food was very good. The resident puppy and dog were entertaining. We had an excellent stay."

"When we arrived there was nobody at reception, then were told our stay was cancelled even though it wasn’t. Service in every area terrible, have to look for someone if you want to order a drink. Seeing the rhinos is amazing and could be the only thing that people would travel for. This lodge has so much potential to be so much better but there is zero enthusiasm by anybody on the property. "

"It was wonderful and the staff was AMAZING, especially Lotto, Johaness and Abraham. The infrastructure could have been better. We were there through a rainstorm and our tent suffered some exterior damage. It was an experience, but it felt like the tents / buildings could have been better, especially in comparison to other Habitas properties."

Expansive Kalahari views

"We had a two night stay at Bagatelle - stsying in one of the dune chalets. The view of the Kalahari is spectactular from both the balcony and the room and it is possible to see several animals. Apart from the dune chalets, it looked like the view from other rooms was far inferior. The room itself was large (not massive) and well conditioned. The main lodge building has the restaurant and pool - both are functional but nothing special - except Kudu wander in. The food was excellent - highest quality we had in Namibia. Overall staff service was good if a little unenthusiastic. The lodge offers a few activities. We did the nature drive around the ranch and cheetah feeding which was excellent. They also offer star gazing but the astronmer was not there so we were unable to do it."

A true gem in the desert.

"This was simply perfect. We had been roaming Africa for 2 months on a motorcycle when we showed up in Gobabis exhausted. On our Africa journey, we stayed at many different accommodation, from the guesthouse in a small village in Tanzania to the world renowned big hotel chain. Our room at the Windpomp Guesthouse was BY FAR the best hotel room we stayed in. Period. We had the luxury room and it was simply perfection. The room was big and the bathroom was larger than the room we had in the previous town. The staff was awesome and always happy to talk to the crazy Canadians on the motorcycle. Breakfast was very good. The hotel did not have a restaurant when we were there, but there is plenty of good ones around the corner. A true gem in the Namibian desert. "
