"The hotel was conveniently located steps away from the JR station. Morioka has no subway, so aside from the JR station, accessing other parts of the city requires walking, taxi or bus. The hotel is adjacent to many good dining options near the station, and is a 20-minute walk to Iwate Park. As for the hotel itself, I found the room pleasant, and was fortunate to be assigned a room with a view of Mt Iwate. The room was a standard size for a Japanese hotel and had the basic features. "Located near the Morioka Castle ruins, about a 10 minute walk. Nearby nightlife was fun but limited. If you arrive for the wanko soba challenge, it’s a 15 minute walk."

"I missed checking in because I did not catch the shinkansen. Nevertheless, when I called to try to cancel, the lady at the other end of the line was extremely helpful and did her best to provide the best service. Although cancellation was not possible because it was done through Expedia (who by the way was not responsive at all), they offered to accommodate us the next morning to eat breakfast and stay in the room until checkout time st 11AM."
