Welcome to beautiful Hale Lula o' Nai'a (House of the Dolphins) on Alii Drive, ocean front retreat!
Located on Alii Drive in Kailua Kona just north of Kahalu'u Beach Park, a great place for surfing, paddle boarding and snorkeling. Two ocean front suites (both with King Size beds) on each end of the home, provide privacy and plenty of space.

Hale Lula o' Nai'a is close to beaches, shopping, a movie theater, and golf course. This home has also been well maintained and is beautifully furnished with great beachy island touches. Enjoy 180-degree ocean view!

Watch the Manta Rays perform their graceful ballet from Rays on the Bay at the Sheraton.

The sunny Kona district is known for its clear waters and historic Hawaiian landmarks such as the Hulihe’e Palace, Moku’aikaua Church and Ahu’ena Heiau, about 8 miles south of the keahole-Kona Airport.  Kona is also known for its famous deep-sea fishing, annually hosting the International Billfish Tournament (August), world championship triathlon race, ironman (October) and Kona coffee in the cooler upland slopes. Enjoy daily activities such as  snorkeling, diving, paddling, watching spinner dolphins and Hawaiian sea turtles casually swimming by the beach, or watch the boats go by while having a meal or a cocktail on Alii drive.

Keauhou Bay is located at the end of Kamehameha III Road, southern kailua Kona, named as the site of the birthplace of King Kamehameha III.

A Spectacular Property!
This is an incredible property. It is perfect for two couples. The two bedrooms are on the opposite side of the house allowing for privacy and comfort. We appreciated the kitchen, it is well stocked. We barbecued/cooked a few meals and found everything we needed. All appliances were in good working order except for the TVs. They had been fried by an electrical surge caused by a nearby accident. Not a big issue for us, we don’t usually watch much TV. But one of our friends was recovering from a surgery and needed some down time. He had some problems with the bedroom TV. I’m sure the owners will address the issue soon. We spent the majority of our time on the covered deck in the rocking chairs. We watched the waves and surfers. We could also see lots of fish in the waves. That was incredibly relaxing. The sunsets were spectacular. The pride of ownership shows in everything in this house. I felt lucky that the owners would share this beautiful property. We will definitely be back and hope this property is available!!!

Perfect getaway for solo trip!
Perfect for solo travelers that don't want to deal with a whole mess of people in a hotel. Loved waking up to the sound of crashing waves and planning my day on the lanai with a cup of coffee. Snorkel and surf is just a few steps away at Kahului Bay. I was greeted by the property manager Adriana who made sure I found my around the house. Looking forward to coming back!!

Magic on the Ocean!
The view at Hale Lula o’ Nai’a is absolutely breathtaking! We were mesmerized by the sunsets, surfers, and whales. If you stay here, don’t bother with a whale watching trip; we saw exactly zero whales on our boat trip, but spotted lots of them from the lanai—along with dolphins and fish. We loved hanging out in the rocking chairs to drink our morning coffee, or to gaze at the gorgeous sunsets. The configuration of the house, with a bedroom and bath at either end, offers lots of privacy for guests. The living area is comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking. We enjoyed grilling on the gas barbecue. Beach gear is also provided: towels, chairs, umbrella. The owners/managers have thought of everything! The location of the home is convenient as well. You’re close to everything you need, but far enough away from downtown Kona to avoid the most crowded areas. There is a grocery store, drug store, and restaurants less than two miles away. The only downside is that traffic can be loud at busy times, but the location and view make it worth ignoring. If you’re sensitive to noise / a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs and you’ll be fine. The property managers are welcoming, friendly, and responsive! Naomi graciously accommodated us when our flight was changed. And Gabrielle was a helpful resource for local markets, restaurants, and an excellent bakery. In short, we would stay here again in a heartbeat! It’s a beautiful house and the view is magical!!

Fabulous view!
We really enjoyed our stay with million dollar view. The house was nice and cozy, it will not disappoint. Our only gripe will be that we had ants in the kitchen and grub like worm in the foyer and living room area daily. Other than that, we will definitely stay here again and again. The sound of crushing waves and beautiful sunset, who cares about bugs!! It is a beautiful home with lots of character. I highly recommend this beautiful home for your next vacation!! Enjoy!!

A lovely property!
We've stayed at the ocean before, but never this close! We'd love to return here! Pros: Gabrielle (manager) and Henry (grounds) were the absolute best, friendly and helpful. One of the best stocked kitchens ever. They even had the best pineapple slicer ever designed! We loved the photos in the drawers to help us remember where we found items. Everything was clean and comfortable, with treats waiting for us on the dining table. Nice! They even had binoculars for us to use, which was great! The views were beautiful! We've never seen surfers this close before. We saw yellow tangs, whales, crabs, geckos, impressive waves, and gorgeous sunsets. We loved the rockers on the lanai! We slept so well hearing the sound of the waves. A/C in bedrooms, fan in living room that worked great! Cons: The bedroom TV wasn't working (only one bedroom had a TV), but there's a large one in the living room. This property is on a busy road, but with the sound of the waves, we didn't even notice it. There was a high surf warning while we were there, so the protective screens across the lanai and bedroom sliders were up most of the time. So that is a possibility, depending on the weather. But we still had a great view on both sides. Henry removed them as soon as it was safe. Breathtaking views! A big thank you to the owners for sharing their bit of paradise with us!!! Mahalo!

Well laid out house with great amenities. The view is beautiful and the kitchen well stocked. It’s important to note that each bedroom has a private ac but no ac in the common areas. There are lots of breezes and we were not hot but it can get a bit humid .

Everthing about this unit, the process, the lanai, the stocked kitchen, the thoughtfulness of everything there, and the management was perfect. The road noise is hard to deal with, but you do have the ocean to cancel it out. The road noise started at 6 AM and woke me up every day. The property managers can’t manage this, but there is a really loud dog across the street. However, I would still go back and stay there again because it’s so beautiful and the property has everything you could think of. Additionally, we saw whales off of our deck every day. Last, we could walk to two different beautiful beaches.

Fantastic Oceanfront
We absolutely loved this home. Unreal location - feels like the ocean is all yours. Super convenient to stores, restaurants, etc., but also a great launching spot for off-grid adventures. It is right on Ali'i Drive, as others have noted, and at times you will hear traffic; but the wall provides decent privacy and most of the time any road noise is canceled out by the sounds of the surf. Management was awesome to deal with. Really a great spot and we will happily return.

Perfect ending
My wife,my fourteen year old son and I spent three weeks island hopping and we were so happy that we chose this place for our last five nights. So convenient and yet outside of the touristy hubbub. We loved the house. Snorkeling right outside the house was great… a little tricky to enter the ocean because of the rocks, but it’s pretty easy when the seas are calm. There’s also a protected beach an easy walk from the property. When the surf got up a bit for our last couple of days and the seas were a little rougher than I like for snorkeling, there were lots of surfers to watch from the rocking chairs on the porch. The house was very well equipped with lots of notes to help you know where things go and what’s expected of you as a renter. Furnishings and fixtures are all high end. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows were great… something that’s not always the case in a vacation rental. We would highly recommend this place to anyone, and we’re already thinking about when we can go back!

We had a wonderful stay at Hale Lula o' Nai'a. The view was breathtaking, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and communication with the property manager was easy. We enjoyed lounging on the lanai and taking dips in the ocean from the backyard. The water was so refreshing. We did have issues with large amounts of fruit flies inside the home starting from the first night and until the end of our stay. But we just had to adapt with that. The bbq also was in need of cleaning. Aside from that, it was a great vacation. Would love to go back!

Amazing Property in Great Location
We could not have asked for a better property to visit during our stay on the Big Island. The deck is even better than the photos! Amazing sunsets, calming sound of the ocean, and a warm breeze all the time. The kitchen was well stocked, shower had amazing water pressure, and the bed is comfortable. The location is great to visit the entire island, close to restaurants and the airport while feeling like you are on a private island once in the house. They even had beach chairs and towels to use, which was so convenient. I’d return to the Big Island again for the sole reason to stay at this home again!

Wonderful Week on Hawai'i!
What a fantastic place to stay! My husband and I had a great week. The house is located close to so much. We rented snorkel gear from Snorkel Bob's and were able to walk down to Kahalu’u Beach Park to snorkel every day. The fish were beautiful and there were also sea turtles. The rest of the day I spent on the front lanai rocking and watching the ocean. It was fun watching the surfers and the schools of yellow tang that were directly in front of the unit. The binoculars provided by the unit were great to use to watch the ocean traffic. Inside the house was great. We only needed one bedroom but it was plenty large for four people. We never needed the air conditioning as we slept every night with the door open to ocean. Listening to the crash of the waves was all we needed for a good night's sleep (the bed was very comfortable). Although I did not cook any dinners (I was on vacation!) the kitchen was well appointed and had everything you would need to easily cook full meals. Since we were in a tropical location directly on the ocean we were careful to keep all snacks in containers or bags. We had no problem with any insects. The sunsets are gorgeous! We planned our dinners out so we would be on the lanai for sunset every night. Now that we are home I can't wait to go back.

This place is amazing!
The property is everything and more that is described in the VRBO listing. We looked forward to getting back to the house every day after touring around the island. The lanai views are incredible. The management team also took very good care of us. We will be coming back.

Magical Tropical Oasis Right in Town
My husband and I had an amazing stay at Hale Lula! The home is well appointed with anything you could possibly need on vacation, including beach gear. We loved having an outdoor shower to rinse off all of the sand and salt after a day at the beach. The bed was was extremely comfortable and, although A/C was available, we slept great with just the ceiling fan. The property is conveniently located right on Ali'i. The road does get busy at times but we never heard the traffic over the sound of the waves. We spent most of our time taking in the view from the rocking chairs on the lanai. The sunsets here are breathtaking! All in all, we had an amazing stay and can't wait to return.

Hale Lula is a beautiful home with the most outstanding view of the Pacific Ocean. The kitchen was lovely and well stocked. We enjoyed the barbecue pit and dining on the front porch. The furnishings are very nice and comfortable. Luva was nice to work with.

Fantastic location and accommodation right on the water with a snorkeling beach 1/4 mile away and a sand beach 0.9 miles away. Fully equipped kitchen and beach closet. Only negative is road noise from Ali’i Drive which is only a few feet from the house.

A blissful oasis within a larger oasis
