Wonderful 2BR/ 2BA Oceanview Condo

UPDATED 6/1/23 We have updated our condo. ALL NEW FURNITURE in living room (new pull out sofa sleeper couch, new side chair, table and area rug) and patio (new patio table, chairs and lounger). BRAND NEW CARPETS for bedrooms. Just installed New washer/dryer and dishwasher. New mattresses will be delivered by 6/15/23. Old textured (popcorn) ceiling has been removed.

This gorgeous two bed and two full bath ocean view condominium unit is offered by Quad Wave Properties. Our unit is located on the seventh of nine floors and attractively furnished with a full kitchen, a flat panel TV & sofa/bed in the living room, washer & dryer and a private lanai with a stunning ocean view. Remodeled kitchen and bathrooms.

The unit, the resort and the Maui location are perfect for a romantic getaway, a relaxed vacation and a family trip.

Kaanapali Shores is a beautiful beachfront 400-plus unit condominium resort complex located on the northern end of Kaanapali Beach, which is considered one of the world's best. Kaanapali Shores offers numerous accommodations such as swimming pools, tennis courts, a fitness/massage center, spa tub, restaurants, shops, waterfalls, flower gardens and a beautiful beach. The resort is near several championship golf courses, many attractions, entertainment and indoor/outdoor malls. Sailing, snorkeling, boat excursions, kayaking, luaus, surfing lessons, water equipment rentals and all activities are nearby.

The condo units at Kaanapali Shores are owned by individuals and many are rented out either through a management company such as Aston or by the owners themselves. Has a wonderful stay feb 10-24. Property super clean. Wonderful pool and restaurant. Great location to everywhere in Kaanapali. Wonderful communication for hosts. Highly recommend!

Nice Place. Would definitely stay here again.
5 nights. Cooked in a lot, which was our choice. Very functional kitchen. Nice view of the ocean and the island from the 7th floor deck. Easy to spot the whales. Two nice pools, bar and restaurant with beautiful view of the ocean. Yeah, I would come back here.

Great location & place, just as advertised
This condo has a great location and was very comfortable for a family of 5 (adults and teens). Views were spectacular and the resort was well maintained (although it could use some updating). Beach is small but Kaanapali Beach is only 5 minutes down the road. Only recommendations is to add extra pillows and blankets for the beds and pull out sofa. Would definitely stay here again.

Condo was quite nice and well set up for 2 to 4 people. Good kitchen, comfy big beds. Only critique is, couch and easy chair are very uncomfortable. Replace them an all would be right in the place.

Great location
We enjoyed staying in this condo very much with our two teens 14 and 16. Everything was clean and there were plenty of dishes etc. The only downside we’re the beds and pillows. They were so hard and the pillows were as well. Otherwise we enjoyed Kaanapali Shores very much!

Wonderful Condo
This condo in Kannapali Shores was clean and spacious. It was very central to many activities and shopping. Michael, the owner, was very prompt in answering my calls and emails. The unit had keyless entry which was a real plus. I would not hesitate renting from him again.

Great condo, beautiful view, nice location
We had a great time at this condo! It was exactly as advertised, with a beautiful view of Molokai. It was clean and we had no problems with six people (four adults, two children) staying there. We were able to use the resort facilities, including towels, and there were boogie boards and sand toys in the unit. Having a grocery store across the street was also a plus, since we ate in a fair amount. As a minor recommendation, they could probably use more spoons, but otherwise it was perfect for a relaxing get away.

Family trip 2023
The family trip was excellent. We were in the perfect location in Maui near great shopping and great restaurants, and most importantly the beach. The resort had all the amenities of any big resort. The unit was the perfect size for our family of five. Enough beds and space for everyone. Maui was great and. I highly recommend getting out and hitting the town and the beach daily. Our communication with the owners was very good. They were very responsive to our needs and made us feel like they care about each guest that stays in their home. We had a few requests and they were very accommodating and helped us feel comfortable while on vacation. We would highly recommend Hawaii and this home in Maui for your families vacation. Aloha

Construction noise not revealed, they said the washer/dryer didn’t work, but they didn’t mention that the dishwasher didn’t work, the cold water in master bath was shut off, certain outlets didn’t work, there were 3 hair dryers in the unit but only 1 worked, outdated furniture was very uncomfortable, and there are cockroaches in the unit! Now if I owned this unit and it isn’t maintained, I would find a new management company to oversee my unit, we will not be using this condo again!

Great place but loud construction everyday.
We were very excited about our trip to Maui. Our daughters had never been before and they were so happy to go to Maui. The condo is very nice and there was a lot of room…washer, dryer, lots of towels, plenty of kitchen items to cook and eat there. The big issue was the construction that went on everyday we were there from 9-5pm. My husband likes to nap in the afternoon and it was impossible with the noise. We had an ocean view, but could not access the balcony so we could enjoy it. Fortunately we were in Hawaii so we had planned to enjoy the pool, beach, and all the sights, but it was hard to enjoy the condo during the day. We spent a lot of money on the condo and didn’t even get a refund for one full night. Very disappointing. If we had know the construction was happening we would have stayed somewhere else. It would be nice to communicate this for future renters.

Very Uncomfortable Stay
The unit was clean and the property manager was responsive. The unit is set farther back from the ocean than the pictures show, but had a nice view. Note that the unit is immediately above a parking lot that is used by many service vehicles and trucks. There was a lot of noise from this. As the other reviewer‘s noted, the furniture in this unit is terribly uncomfortable (both inside and out) and needs to be replaced. The bedding in the master bedroom does not fit appropriately and required us to remake the bed every morning. The beach chairs and umbrellas are not in working condition (but easily rented from the resort). While this unit seems to be significantly less expensive than similar units, I would not rent again due to the noise and serious lack of comfort in the furnishings.

Excellent property
Our stay was significantly different than anyone else that has reviewed this property. We had 2 nights and 1 full day on property before we were displaced due to the west Maui wildfires. The owners were incredibly communicative before and during our time in Maui. When we checked in, we found that the condo was extremely clean with new and very comfortable furniture, beds/mattresses and outdoor patio furniture. New carpet in bedrooms and new linens/towels. The kitchen appliances were all excellent and we had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare and cook meals. The condo itself was very comfortable. The resort was lovely-beautiful pools, grounds and beach. This unit was close to everything at the resort but there was also some privacy which was nice. Everyone at the resort was pleasant and helpful. Prior reviews stated loud construction. There was construction while we were there but it did not affect us and the lanai was open and available (also brand new- with new furniture). On the day of the tragic wildfire we were off resort hiking and could not get back into the area. The owners were extremely communicative, responsive, helpful and kind. We would absolutely stay at this property again if we had the chance. We cannot say enough about the owners communication and helpfulness before our check in and absolutely during the remainder of the week when we were displaced before we were evacuated off the island.

Great place was minor issues
I can't say enough about the location and the resort. Maui has to be the most relaxing and beautiful place I have ever been. We could go snorkeling at any beach we went to, and each time we went we saw an abundance of colorful fish, turtles, eels and even spotted an octopus. If the beach isn't your thing then just turn around and you'll see the awesome scenery of mountain ridges that are full of hiking trails and waterfalls. The resort was just as impressive. There were two swimming pools, one with beautiful plants and water features that families with children were enjoying, and one right next to the beach and with an awesome view of the neighboring islands that was breathtaking at sunset. The staff at the resort were extremely pleasant, helpful and very knowledgeable if you needed info for activities outside the resort. I will say I was a little disappointed with a few things about the appartment we stayed in. The resort was in the process of replacing several of the balconies so the days were full of construction noise, but it really wasn't a problem since our plans kept us outside the majority of our time there. What truly was unfortunate was the place had roaches. We contacted the owners who did get someone to come spray rather quickly. I don't blame the owners for the roaches. I'm willing to bet they came from a neighboring apartment since the place was clean and no food is stored there. I would definitely stay there again. Once the roaches move out.

Condo needs updating in all rooms
This condo did not match the listing description or pictures. Springs in couch are gone and additional chair is too hard to sit in comfortably. Glass in kitchen table has been replaced but is not level with the table so dishes sit uneven on the table and rock back and forth when eating. Sheets and mattress cover did not fit king bed properly and all bedding is worn. No extra blankets available. Pull out couch had two fitted sheets and no pillows. Pillows are flat and hard in bedrooms. Dishwasher does not work. Washer only works if the breaker is reset. Shower liners are moldy. Kitchen pots and pans are in poor shape. Stayed for three weeks with no mid stay cleaning service but paid cleaning fees. Building in general needs work as it is very tired looking including the grounds. No beach in front is a deterrent to stay there again. This is not an inclusive feeling property. Aston not willing to provide service to private renters including the refusal to allow us to use a luggage cart to get our luggage and groceries to the unit. Would not rent this unit or stay at the property again.

One of the worst VRBO’s I’ve experienced
We book rentals with VRBO often and our experience was BY FAR the worst experience we've ever had. After a long day traveling to Maui, we arrived a little early, so contacted the property owner, hoping we might be able to get in an hour or so prior to the 4p check in time. That wasn’t possible, as the cleaners needed all of that time to clean and prepare the rental for the next users (us.) Understandable. We finally get into our rental and the first place I went was the master bathroom. The toilet had diarrhea splattered all over it & there was no shower curtain. Getting settled in, we opened the curtains to the lanai, only to find a sign telling us that it was closed and was taped off. One of the main reasons we chose this rental was for the ocean view from the lanai for our mother who has issues getting around. This was suppose to be a dream come true for her. They also neglected to tell us that there was major renovations occurring at the facility. Heavy equipment, lots of loud drilling and banging going on … ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. And I do have pics and video to back up all of my claims. There were cockroaches, yes alive, in the kitchen. The last one I saw was in the silverware drawer. The ultimate kicker ….. when I contacted the owner to address the issues, they sent me a $300 refund for the inconvenience. THAT IS INSULTING, at best. This was disappointing. I’ve stayed at Honua Kai 2 previous times and will go back there from now on.

An economical choice for staying at Kaanapali Beach
We rented this unit for 3 nights in March, 2016. This was one of the few condos in the Kaanapali Beach area which did not require a longer stay. We had stayed in another 2 bdrm unit rented through the Aston Kaanapali Shores (AKS) main office last year and this VRBO unit had substantially lower rent. However, except for the recently remodeled kitchen, this VRBO unit as definitely less well-maintained and furnished. Nevertheless our stay at this unit was satisfactory overall for our group of 4 adults and 1 toddler. It's a good choice if you're on a budget or want a short term stay. AKS is a very nice property with beautiful landscaping, on the beach, and great pools for adults, teens, and toddlers. Good points of this unit: Condo was clean. Nice couch & arm chair, comfy king-sized beds. Newer well-equipped kitchen. 3 TVs. Partial ocean view. Beach chairs & umbrella provided. Tile in living, dining, & hallways which is easier to clean but not as comfortable as carpets. Plenty of towels available for room, pool, & beach. We were allowed to check out at 3 PM on our day of departure since no one was renting the unit that evening. Bad points: Located on the windy side of the complex. Drafts of air blew into the room through the sliding door and into the small bedroom through the closed window. Dining table & chairs worn out. Folding chairs must be used by 5 & 6th persons. No daily maid service. Maid service & maintenance provided by outside agency which closes at 4 PM. We had to wait until the next day after check in to clear a clogged bathroom sink and replace a burnt out kitchen light. Bedroom closets were half filled with furniture, minimizing space for hanging clothes and storing luggage. Light blocking curtains in the smaller bedroom had many holes in them. The baseboards along the lower walls in the living & dining rooms and hallway were missing. Some of the doors and doorjambs were chipped and worn. Some of the walls had smudges and chipped paint. The bathroom off the hallway had a single, older cabinet with minimal storage space for toiletries. Movie DVDs in the main lobby are not available to units managed by owners. Security deposit refund may require waiting up to a month.

The condo was clean and quiet! Furnishings seemed to be new. Beds were very comfortable and ocean view from the lanai was very nice! I had lost instructions on getting into the condo but owner resent email to me right away! Some confusion with door keys as there was supposed to be 2 keys on kitchen counter. Cleaning company called me next day to let me know where the key was but there was only one key, not two. We had a wonderful week celebrating our granddaughter's graduation and we would definitely stay here again!
