Didn't get the room I paid for
When I contacted the property manager by email I said "I am looking for one of the better rooms next to the beach." She responded "she had an ocean view, but it would cost extra" . What we ended up with was a room literally as far from the beach as possible - in fact, it was all the way back by the parking lot and freeway. They claimed it was "ocean view" because you could barely see a sliver of water about 300-400 yards away. After much conversation with the staff, we (not the property manager) were able to get moved 2 days into the stay a bit closer to the ocean (about 200 yards away), which was better, because we were at least further form the freeway. We came to learn from the staff that when booking with a 3rd party and not directly with an owner, you are put at the very bottom of the list for room desirability. I am sure the property manager will deny this but based on the room we were initially given, it makes perfect sense. We really like the property and have stayed there multiple times, but I wouldn't ever book with a 3rd party property manager again.
