BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to heavy surf, strong currents and tides. Due to Maui’s rural atmosphere you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them.

IMPORTANT: Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Hawaii is located in a tropical climate, and insects, rodents and lizards flourish in this environment. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

The pictures showed the unit looking out over the pools and where the sun set. The unit we got looked out over the parking area towards the water but not in the sunset direction. The WiFi was not working for the first day which was inconvenient. We had to use our phones as hot spots. No blender, the wine opener was bent. There were 3 good knives!

Our room was originally an obstructed view room within the resort, which was not what we were expecting consider the description on the page. We were moved to a true ocean view room the next day. Got a quick response and we’re able to get it resolved. Cleanliness, amenities, location are all great!

Nice property with pools and spas. Right on the ocean with a great view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wish the kitchen had a few more utensils such as pizza cutter, some food storage options, otherwise was great overall.

Absolutely loved the home and the convenience of having everything one needs when on vacation. The laundry, the kitchen appliances, the comfy bed, the view from the lanai. It’s steps away from easy beach access, the stores on site provide anything you need. There’s also a grocery store across the way and restaurants within walking distance. Absolutely loved it! We enjoyed the nightly sunset views from the balcony, pool and beach.
Everything you need is at the Aston Kaanapali. We enjoyed the shops, restaurant, pools and watched the sunsets while swimming in the ocean or relaxing on the balcony . The staff was friendly, fun and gave us ideas for exploring the island.

Loved our room and it’s location and view. We’ve stayed at KShores several times and particularly like this location best. Nice big living and dining space. Adequate kitchen, comfortable bedroom, good sized bathroom and very spacious storage for clothing and personal items. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony each night listening to music (some live) at the big pool.

Beautiful condo and property
The pictures don't do this property justice. The room exceeded our expectations! We have a family of 4 with kids ages 6 & 3 and the condo was perfect size with plenty of storage. The view from the lanai was incredible and the whales were out daily. The room was clean and very large. The property itself was beautiful and everyone was very friendly. The restaurant received mixed reviews but yet another thing we were surprised with the quality of food and drinks, we never had a bad item on the menu. We can't wait to come back and stay here again!!!!! Thanks Terry for making our stay that much better!!!

Easy. My concern is that I’m not sure how it works when you sign up online, if you know what room you will be in. Our friends who traveled with us ended up with a room with no view.... same $$$. How will I know that won’t happen to us next year? Can we request a room number, if it is available ?

Maui Family Vacation
Overall, the Kaanapali Shores Resort is a beautiful location with lots of amenities. On the disappointing side, the room was not as clean as it should have been and we were given a different room than was advertised. We still had an ocean view, but looked out over a parking lot rather than the pool area. All the resort staff were excellent and accommodating on any request. There is no beach in front of the resort due to a winter storm in 2019, but there is beach access at the resort next door with easy access. Overall, a great vacation and we would stay again!

Nice Property, few issues
In general, the property was good and we enjoyed our stay. A few things that took away from considering it being a 5 star in our opinion: 1. You have to pay to use the gym - which was very hotel basic (which wasn’t advertised when booking on the app) 2. To watch movies that were R on cable you had to enter a parental pin but nobody could give it to us neither the property manager or hotel desk and got bounced between weeen the two 3. Kitchen amenities basic - for example one frying pan only which was very poor quality and everything stuck 4. Very difficult to get a spot at either pool due to volume of people 5, unit isn’t the one pictured - although comparable - but should be advertising the same one. Otherwise, good experience.

Our experience with VRBO and the Kaanapali Shores was first rate. We love the property and the convenience of having a market across the street. The view from our room was gorgeous! Terry was very easy to deal with and always answered any questions I had promptly.
