The Aerie was super cozy, clean, and a unique property to spend some family time. The owners created a wonderfully hygge space and we loved our stay. We will stay here again while visiting our daughter in Juneau. Loved the nearby walks. We recommend the Aerie!
My party of 5 (ages 10-55) were overjoyed when we walked into this house. There is not a 90 degree angle in sight and it exudes cozy coolness. My older kids loved hanging out and sleeping in the loft. The house had everything we needed. We all wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely try to stay here again next time we are in Juneau. (Note: You definitely need a car if you stay here... it's quite a ways out the road, but was convenient to the ferry.)
I visited Juneau with my son and fiancé so family could meet the soon to be DIL. This liitle cabin was perfect for us. I had the cozy main floor bedroom and they had the beautiful room up the spiral staircase. The owners were fantastic and responsive. The home was so cozy, unique and welcoming. The kitchen is small but well stocked. We enjoyed being out of town and yet a quick drive to all the restaurants, shops and family! Kind of like a drive up
Tree house! Parking was great and off the road. This place is so different and fun. It would not suit everyone. Lots os stairs in and outside. So little kids or anyone with mobility issues should go elsewhere. But for us it was the absolute best choice I could have made!
Very fun and quaint cottage in the woods. Unique architecture. Great place to experience the outdoors of the Juneau area and nice to be away from the cruise-ship crowds of downtown Juneau. Lots of hiking trails (from easy to difficult) as well as beach access nearby. We very much enjoyed the "Aerie" while we were there.
(We would love to have had bikes to ride up the Herbert Glacier trail, which is wide and mostly flat, but is almost 10 miles round trip.)
The one thing I want to let people know is that there are lots of steep stairs in this rental. From someone with "bad knees", the spiral staircases were something to take care going up and down. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend the "Aerie" for people with toddlers or for anybody with mobility issues.
The Aerie was phenomenal!! So much charm. Would definitely recommend staying here during a trip to beautiful Alaska! We had a great time staying in Juneau for our 20th Anniversary.
This cabin is built in such a brilliant manner I think it would be most interesting to sit with the builder and hear about how this idea came to be. Corey was very kind and helpful with suggestions. The cabin had some food essentials for us in the fridge, pancake mix, maples syrup, and oatmeal which were most appreciated.
We love the beauty of nature and hiking. Just around the corner is a stunning trail to the beach called the breadline buff trail. We also went a couple of nights to the shrine of saint Terese to marvel at the nature and fish. We saw some whales from shore too. Right next door to the shrine is Caroline’s point trail which was also gorgeous. On our last day we went further into the remote forest and saw eagles beach and hiked Cowee creek trail.
This was a wonderful home base to explore the beauty of Alaska. The home was utterly charming and clever, and we loved coming home to it every night. I suggest this wonderful cabin to any wilderness enthusiast to come to with a home base of comfort, charm and comfort. Enjoy
Our family had a lovely stay at this unique Juneau home. Nestled amongst the trees, it was peaceful and relaxing. We loved exploring the area and enjoying all that Juneau has to offer!
We had a great time playing games that they provided. We drank hot cocoa while we played games. They had a great selection of games to play. Game night was so fun since at home we don’t have time in the evenings to sit down and play a game.
The beds were comfortable and the couch was very comfortable and a nice sized dining table.
It was fun relaxing in the hammock upstairs and reading a book. Very unique place to stay, like an indoor Swiss Family Robinson tree house.
We had one night to spend in Juneau and are so glad we found this adorable, quiet and clean rental. It was all ready for us when we arrived, lit up and welcoming, the chocolate was a nice surprise, me and my daughter loved every part of it and had a great time hanging out in the cozy loft. Thanks for sharing the property with us!
