Our stay was for 7 nights, so our expectations may be different from a couple only doing weekend stays.
The house is cute and the location is great. It’s no longer a “new” home, but rather a 3 year-old home. The Internet is high speed, which is great for streaming videos.
On the downside…
We awoke to a filthy coffee maker. There was mold growing in the leftover grinds and the carafe was not clean.
The king bed in the primary bedroom sags because the center and middle supports will not stay in place.
The front door cannot be fully secured because the latch plates and weather stripping are missing.
And we could not use the fire pit because the propane tank was empty and no spare available.
The kitchen has limited cookware, dishware and silverware - just enough for four persons. There were no dish towels, dish rags, or hand towels for the kitchen. There is a small frying pan, but no larger one for cooking bacon and eggs for two or more persons. And the oven could use a cleaning.
We notified the owners of all the issues and they promptly replied with nice apologies and assurances these issues would be handled “immediately”. Preston offered to reimburse me if I exchanged the propane tank, but I feel guests should not be inconvenienced by normal maintenance items.
Nothing got fixed during our stay, with the exception of me thoroughly cleaning the coffee pot and grinds holder.
This property has so much potential, I hope the owners make it so.
