"Lovely location and clean property. Niggles were around the owner not responding to questions about what would already be there (there were filters for the coffee machine, now there are 2 boxes! There is a car charge point nearby but no idea if we could have accessed it). We also weren’t sure if we were allowed onto the jetty but presumed we were. But a nice quiet place to stay."

"Accommodation was fine. Lovely little pub 5 min walk from property. Only problem was getting the key from reception as they said didn't seem to know we were arriving. They also couldn't find the key after speaking to the owner, eventually gave me the spare key but it was a bit stressful at the time. I must point that this was reception's fault and not the owner of the property."

"I stayed here for 6 nights with my wife and we really enjoyed it. The town is very quiet but it's a short drive to cities like Leeuwarden and Harlingen for activities. There is a grocery store in the next town over so it's a quick drive or bike ride if you need to pick up anything. "Our Holiday in grou was wonderful. The house was really well equipped and big enoug for all of our family + our dogs. The garden is surrounded by fences and hedges. That gives you a lot of privacy and you don`t have to worry about the dogs. The garden is big enough for playing tabletennis and badminton, which we did a lot :-) Moreover there is a little ferry 5 minutes away, which brings you to the city center for shopping or visiting restaurants or doing some waterspouts. "This quiet back-water close to the town of Makkum makes an ideal base for chilling out and communing with nature. For the bird-lover the area teems with wildfowl. We heard a Bittern. We used the spacious accommodation as a base for cycling and were not disappointed. The hosts were kind and considerate. Home-produce was available from this small-holding."
