Good apartment, poor communication
The apartment is really nice with good lighting. Self checkin was fine, we entered the apartment in the afternoon, and went out for the rest of the day. When we got back at night the locks wouldn’t work and we weren’t able to get in.
When we told the owner they disregarded it saying the locks work 100%, which shows a lack of empathy and solving attitude a host should have. We had to go back and film a video showing how we weren’t able to open the door. After this they did not reply for an hour (we still couldn’t access our things and daily medication). Then they sent a locksmith who was able to fix the locks.

I understand if you’re not able to solve instantly but it’s important to say you’re looking for a solution. Otherwise it will look like you don’t care and managing rentals you need to be more communicative. They never said the very minimum “sorry for your inconvenience” or asked how we managed that night we were locked out.

After our stay ended we asked to solve the issue about that first night. They offered to refund $200 (and had charged $235) and refused to pay taxes and service fees that we did pay for that night. We paid $308 in total for the night.
We were lucky enough to have family staying close so we slept on their couches that night. Otherwise we would have had to pay for a very pricey hotel night (which I don’t think this owner would have refunded).
If you’d like to stay here ask if they changed the locks., wouldn’t be surprised if this happened again.
