Great view!
The views off the deck were amazing! On a clear day/night we saw Stone Mountain and Atlanta. The hot tub on the deck was clean and inviting. Unfortunately we could not use it on our last night due to servicing. I understand the owners are planning some updating, which is needed. Otherwise, the house needs a deep cleaning (inside and out-vines growing onto the lower decks) to include the stair carpets. Some new skillets would be welcome as well. I bought one to use while there. But, overall a great time was had by all. An hour-ish drive to other towns/venues/wineries.

Incredible views
Our family spent a wonderful week in the mountains here in Big Canoe. This ‘cabin’ was cozy, inviting, & comfortable. The views from the deck are amazing, and we enjoyed each morning , afternoon and evening sitting outside, listening to the nature around us. The master suite is unrivaled, and we utilized the sitting area in it a lot too, a perfect place to read and relax. There were a few minor issues we contacted the host with, and the communication was good. The house could use some updating here and there ( kitchen mostly), but it was functional. Downstair bedrooms are small, but again, functional. The loft is a great space, and we spent some time having pool tournaments,a nice added feature… We ate at the clubhouse for brunch on Sunday, and the buffet on Tuesday night. The seating on the veranda is wonderful with incredible views of Lake Sconti. We hiked up to Mt. Oglethorpe a few times ( great workout!), and were amazed at the history it holds. The hot tub was appreciated after hikes, and was very clean and spacious… it was serviced the day we checked in, so it gave us peace of mind for its cleanliness…(you may want to bring extra towels )…We enjoyed several trips on the jeep trails within Big Canoe too, and would highly recommend it if you own a jeep. Again, so much history on the trail! And, we finally saw a bear on our last night! Another hilight was a day on the lake renting a pontoon boat. Everyone enjoyed it. The trip up to the top of the mountain is a bit precarious… but you get used to the drive after a few trips… (make sure your tires and brakes are in good condition.:) Would definitely love to come back to Big Canoe again…

Fell in love with the property and incredible views
The Mountain View Right in our backyard was an absolute dream. Our host was more than helpful with anything we needed. The home was beautiful and well kept along with being well stocked as far as kitchen and bathroom necessities. There was so much to do in and around the community. We enjoyed golfing, the pool and the lake. We hope to make this a yearly experience!

Wow, What a View!!!
This is a wonderful home with all the amenities, hot tub, pool table, and well stocked kitchen and baths. Our host was so helpful and attentive. Big Canoe is a beautiful mountain resort. And this house just tops it off on a grand scale. You can see to Atlanta on a clear day/night. We will definitely rent this place again next time we visit. Recommend. So much fun.

Comfortable cabin with unusual view of Atlanta
The cabin was roomy and comfortable with a fantastic, long-range (45 miles?) view of Atlanta to its south. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bed was comfortable. The amenities in Big Canoe are also excellent, and we enjoyed the hiking. The hosts were always prompt with responses to questions. A very positive experience.

Thanksgiving and birthday getaway
I came with my adult daughter, son-in-law and 2 teenage grandchildren. We enjoyed our experience in the house, the views were spectacular and the cool weather a nice change from Florida. It was the relaxing getaway we all needed. The kids loved the hot tub and the house was large enough that we did not feel crowded.

Absolutely fantastic!
Everything was great. The view is even better than the pictures. The pictures made it seem larger than it is, so we were initially worried about coziness, but it was perfect. Comfortable, great amenities, quiet, and spectacular. We had a couple of issues outside of the control of the owners but they responded quickly and with great concern and care. Thete were simply too many places to visit and stuff to do and we could have spent the week just on the property. We did hit a couple of the closer things like Amicalola Falls and Gibb's Gardens, both fantastic. If there was any tip to give future renter's, it is that it takes a good 15 minutes to get down the mountain, and then another 15-30 minutes to get to a town or activity. That was perfect for us, we wanted quiet. But it could be a surprise for some. All in all, an amazing stay, couldn't recommend more.

Spectacular Home and Views
We've stayed at many short term rentals, and this home ranks at the top. The home has everything you'd want from a pool table to a hot tub with a long range mountain view. There are magnificent mountain views all around, but the sitting/reading space in the master bedroom was especially restful - like being in a treehouse!

Big Canoe review
The house has amazing views. We loved that there were many windows to see everything outside. There were a few issues that we will report to the homeowners to fix. Low on laundry detergent Propane grill does not put out much heat. It was difficult to turn the nozzle on. Someone previously left the nozzle on the ON position and it was stuck. Single sink in master bath drips. Second step on hot tub stair was broken Trundle bed is very uncomfortable. The woman working the North guard gate was extremely rude. But the cabin was wonderful, cozy and inviting.

The views alone were worth the trip! Unbelievably views from every room made it an experience to remember. Helping that was all of the small touches that made it a family trip to remember. Family pool games at night, legos for the kids and everyone used the hot tub! We loved being able to have family meals every night and easy mornings and on the deck overlooking what seemed to be all of Georgia. Would absolutely come back and have already recommended to others

Excellent location, great place.
We had a great time staying in this mountaintop cabin. While the drive up is a bit challenging, particularly at night or if it's raining and slick, the gate gave us a perfect map at check in. However, once you get to the cabin, you really don't want to leave. The view is amazing and different from morning fog waves to afternoon clear view all they way to the Atlanta downtown skyscrapers to nighttime sky full of stars. And the decks are perfect, with a hot tub, tables, lounge chairs and grills. Inside it's equally nice, with a huge great room, kitchen full of appliances and everything, a loft with a pool table and kids toys and multiple bedrooms and a laundry room. All in all, excellent experience, and we'd definitely return.
