This hotel has a very chic lobby and restaurant, with high ceilings and marble floors. The rooms themselves are slightly more basic, with large bathrooms, relatively comfortable beds, and the basic amenities you would expect from a 3 star hotel. The staff try to be very helpful, and generally are, but there is one stand out exception, the doorman; he not only speaks the best English of all the staff, but also seems to combine multiple roles as concierge, fixer, doorman and overall problem-solving maestro... found me a change office on a Sunday, and got one of the bell boys to take me down there on his scooter, full of information about Batavia, found taxis out of the blue... One thing to note: There is no wifi in the rooms.
