Internet in the area is patchy but Yelena lent us her personal mobile phone internet when we needed it to make arrangements. We had a lovely few days at Casa el Pescador."

"Rooms overlooking the sea. The best place to welcome the sunrise. The beach is a minute's walk away. The hosts are very hospitable and welcoming, willing to help in any situation. When my husband became ill on the day of departure, the host offered help and provided a room free of charge for my husband to come to his senses. They also helped us organize excursions to Cienaga de Zapata and rent a bike to ride around the area. Highly recommended!"

"Cuba is not easy to travel these days. In particular, less frequented places like playa larga. But i enjoyed my stay there. Thanks to good coffee and sandwiches served by the casa, seafood at restaurants, and lovely beaches araound"

"We had a great time in Villa Eclipse. Damaris is an examplery hostess who was always there for us with her warm smile and at the same time she was discreet. She helped us to organize nearby excursions and she prepared a delicious breakfast using ingredients of high quality. The room and the whole property (the rooms are on the first floor, Damaris with her family live in the ground floor) were really clean and quiet at the end of a small road. The door and the windows of the room seamed a bit tricky to handle at first but after Damaris explained us, it was a piece of cake. The property has a lovely terrace where we could relax and enjoy the calmness of the place. We also experienced several hours of black out, but fortunately the property had a generator and there was always light. The beach and the restaurants are all within walking distance. We highly recommend this place which is simple but had everything one needs for a relaxing stay in Playa Larga. We always felt safe and welcome and we really thank Damaris for this pleasant stay in her home. Mando and Christiana "

"Libby, the host could not have been more helpful. She was an absolute star helping us organise trips and transport. Her warm welcome and that of her staff made our trip to Cuba, and in all she simply could not do enough for us. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The room perfectly acceptable for the price and the beach at Playa Larga gorgeous. The hostal was perfectly positioned for the beach being only a few meters away ( at a guess, less than 100). Do not expect 5* homogenised luxury. Do expect to meet real people whose warmth and kindness made my stay perfect. "
