"Asalem is a great place to relax. Very friendly, great views, quiet. Problem for people that have issues with stair climbing as located on a hill and to get to rooms steep stairs have to be dealt with. Bungalows are beautiful and on 2 levels. To get to main bedroom again steep staircase. Bathroom is on lower floor so if you have to get up at night starir case awaits to get to bathroom. Besides the stairs the hotel is great. You have to take ship from Concecao 15 mins or from angra dos reis 50 mins to abraao on the island a d call hotel for boat pickup as you cannot walk to hotel with heavy luggage. The hotel boat could be better. I rate the stay as excellent as the views, the friendliness of the personnel and the hiking and beach options are really great"

"A very nice hotel in Angra. Valet parking was a real plus. Breakfast options were plentiful, and the topmost floor had a lot of space to hang out or work. The area offered a wide variety of dining options within walking distance. Despite the name Angra Beach Hotel, it is not located by the beach, but it offers a free daily pass to a very nice beach in the Ilha da Jipoia. I will stay at this hotel again if I am ever back in Angra."

"First, on the day we arrived, that night we had to change rooms because the bath tub was leaking water all over the bathroom floor. Also, the toilet lid was broken, the air conditioning had a loud noise and wasn’t cooling property. On the second room, the same happened with the air conditioning. The hotel was poorly staffed and several times, the excuse was: “right now, we have no concierge or hostess or bellboy”. Also I speak for languages fluently (spanish, english, italian and french) and many times we had to wait for the staff to find someone that spoke one of those languages. The last night, we had to go to bed without having dinner because we ordered room service and they said that food would arrive in 15mins. One hour passed and I called to see the status of our order and the person said that he couldn’t comply with out order because he couldn’t prepare the food because the kitchen was getting maintenance. If I hadn’t called no one would have let us know. It was a time to relax and enjoy as a couple in a luxury resort but it felt more like a resort that is about to close or go bankrupt. So sad to see such a beautiful place give their clients that poor customer service. "

"The hotel reminded me of a small resort which was nice. They have security at the entrance which makes you feel safe. The pool area was my favourite part, very beautiful view. There’s a shopping mall in walking distance which was very convenient. "

"the houses were looking lovely on the internet and the house itself was clean and well maintained but it is more a hotel of value of 200 /300 reales per night. no more. the bed was cheap and terrible. the sheets were as thin as they could possible be and we didn't feel comfortable when we entered the room and found blood spatters on the wall and curtains. this doesn't fill one with confidence "
