Best location
This hotel has one of the best location in Taksim, very easy to find and in the middle of the square. The staf is friendly but the main problem is that the furniture is old, which look unclean and dirty. The management need to take this point in consider because no one would like to sit in a dirty room. The carpets and bed sheets need to be changed immediately.

Great location but old and unclean hotel
The photos in the website is totally different, the room was not clean, u can see the dust in the corners, the carpet was dirty, no tissues in the toilet!! I was disappointed when i saw the hotel it's totally different than what i saw in the website!! The only advantage of this hotel is the location, it's in Taksim Square and too close to the metro station. The hotel's shuttle driver was so kind and friendly.. Ramadan was the best person in this whole experience of this hotel!

Good hotel but poor online customer service
Good hotel and breakfast with excellent location right on the dot in the center of. the infamous Taksim Square in Istanbul. However, due to Hotels' poor customer service over the phone on the part of of Hotels I got the wrong type of accomodation. I asked for a 4-star room but upon checking in I was given a no-view budget type room - no wonder the initial price was cheap at about RM200 per night. So I had to upgrade with extra cost @ US$55 per night. for the type of room I wanted. Other than that Ottoman Palace Taksim Square was great.

Great location, friendly staff
The title says it all. Right in the middle of Taksim Square. My hotel room window overlooked Taksim Square perfectly. There was quite a bit of road noise (Taxis honking, people yelling, etc.) since we were on the 2nd floor but I wasn't in the room all that much during the day and stayed out pretty late. Having a room on a higher floor may have reduced the noise a bit. Every single member of the staff were friendly and helpful. I read that they were not in prior reviews but this was not my experience. They even let us leave our bags their prior to our room being prepped for us while we toured Istanbul. I would definitely stay here again.

The manager is not good and not client oriented, you feel like in prison. They are not client oriented, no request where answered, each request made their faces very unpleasant. First time I see such staff in Istanbul

Excellent location. Unreasonable policies. We booked a triple room for the three of us(first time with hotels.com), being unable to come across an option for choosing persons, we wrote it in the comments. Hotel charged us extra 30 euros per night as they said the booking was for 2 persons(in a 3 bed room), where as we had made it clear in the comments section. The location is very good, connecting to all of istanbul easily. Music plays all night in nearby clubs no matter which room u choose. If u choose a sea view room the view is partly blocked by an under construction building (soon there might not be a sea view room). Overall, im glad we didnt book for too long and moving to a better hotel wasnt hard.

lobby and rooms stunk. at some point, I think there was smoking being infused into the room via the air conditioner. Beds were very uncomfortable. This hotel does not look or feel at all like what's shown in pictures.

The hotel staff are in a mood,that they are there to collect only bills, nothing about service. They are not expecting any guests to serve,they'll be busy with their own work and some inquiry is made we have to wait for sometime till they finish their work and back.about the restaurant , there is a common practice in all the taksim square 4 star hotels as they call themselves ,omelette will be charged extra and fresh fruit juices are charged extra, then there will be cheese cereals and some Turkish breads poor marmalades,packed fruit juices cold chicken ,salads, that's all .ill go to the kitchenette near marmara hotel for breakfast as the hotel charges for the breakfast which is very poor in quality and quantity.the actual rate worth this hotel will be 25%of what we pay for our stay but we pay rest for the location?if they can improve something from my review - bring in good food, always be ready to welcome guests and willingly serve them,ATLEAST these can bring in some good review of your hotel

Good hotel for the price.
Overall good experience. The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly and fluent in English. Watch out for the "single male scam". Google it if you are unfamiliar as there is a lot of information online. Around this hotel, I was approached no fewer than FIVE times by other guys on the street. The scam goes like this: They are friendly, good English speakers, and will try and lure you to a bar for a drink. Once at the bar, some women will join you. Of course, the bar tab for a bottle of wine, etc, will be well over $1000 (payment expected immediately) and you are physically threatened to pay on the spot. Police won't do anything. Istanbul is a wonderful city, but scam artists on the streets abound. This annoying scam was attempted on me on the Istikal Caddessi time and time again. That, and the carpet hawkers. Irritating and annoying. Not the hotels fault, of course, but it is a city and location problem around the hotel's location at Taksim Square. Don't let yourself fall into it.
