Check in was smooth, easy, and quick so no problems there. The location of the hotel is right in the heart of the city, so you'll hear a lot of the pedestrians, tourists, restaurant noise, etc. from down below the street when you open the window. So if you're looking for complete quiet, this is not the place.
When I entered my room, it smelled like they had just sprayed it with air freshener, but after awhile, there was a bit of a musty smell to the room. The pillow cases and bedsheets smelled like smoke, so that was not the most pleasant. But it wasn't unbearable. The floors needed a vacuum - it was quite dusty and lots of hair was still there on the floor. The coffee table, side bed tables all needed dusting. There was a small puddle of water under the closet, which was probably coming from the mini -fridge that was inside the closet. The fridge was not cold at all when I arrived (that's bc when the key card is not placed into the slot, all electricity is turned off. So the fridge had to be plugged in for quite awhile before you got a cold fridge). The bathroom (WC) is probably my biggest complaint. I can tell that when this hotel was new, it was probably nice and clean, but over the years, there has been a buildup of mold and mildew which is on the ceiling of the bathroom. You can smell it. Also, the room wifi was virtually non-existent. Breakfast was decent and the rooftop cafe was nice. Wifi is good there!
