The Cape Palace Hotel is a good hotel overall, very conveniently located near the center of the "action" in Istanbul. It's only about 10-minute walk to the Hagia Sophia & Blue Mosques park area, and some 12-min. to the the Topkapi Palace museum. I was able to book some tours that picked me up and dropped me off very close to this hotel, given its central location. In addition, it's only two blocks from a busy street with lots of restaurants, all of which offered excellent meal choices!
The downside of this hotel is that is the last property in a deadened street and the street is super narrow, so taxis had a hard time getting there and for buses it was next to impossible, so you have to walk to the corner (hauling your luggage) to be able to get on a bus. The property appears to be well maintained and clean, except for a few details here and there (I found a pair of dirty women's underwear in the bathroom from the previous guests, yuck!). Also, my (single) room was one of the tiniest I've seen, but most importantly perhaps, the bed was hard as a rock! If you're concerned about your back and you require a soft bed, you may want to think twice (or thrice) before booking this hotel. The bathroom worked just fine, no complaints there. The breakfast was very good and well stacked with lots of different choices. The staff was awesome; super friendly and accommodating to most of my requests! I did feel the hotel was a bit overpriced though, but location may have driven the rate.
