"We pitched up at a closed down hotel after a gruelling mountainbike race in 38 degrees celsius!! The Wartburg hotel has been closed since Nov 2019! We booked this last week and money was taken from my credit card. Luckily we found alternative accomodation 40km further. We would like our money back. "

Taken in through a side door to our room with no orientation about the palace its surroundings local places to eat. Exterior beautiful gardens neglected. Viewing deck total overgrown. Old rusty ladder lying their. Lounge pool dirty and definitely not five stars although it could be. All out door seating areas too dirty to sit on. A...

"I booked before arriving at the hotel. When I got there, they told me my booking hasn't come through but the money credited into my account, till today I have not receive my money back, I had to pay again at the hotel because it was already late, "

"The Hotel has so much potential but there is a clear lack of care. During breakfast the linen was dirty. The breakfast was poor considering it cost R200 per person. The hotel is not cheap, but leaves a lot to be desired."

"Lovely old style house and grounds - gated. Good overnight stay. Very friendly owner and staff with travel advice. Safe. Renovation works going on but luckily did not effect our 1 night stay. "
