Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Bunkhouse. The location and proximity to Yellowstone can't be beat! Beds were very comfortable, linens were lush and nice. Decor and styling of the cabin is well done, but there are definitely a few minor things that need work.
Upon arrival, there was a set of sheets in the washer that were soaking wet and smelled like mildew from sitting. The handles on the laundry doors are missing, there are only screwheads sticking out. The doors were also coated in a layer of dust. The dryer takes several cycles to get even a small load of towels dried. This was very frustrating the day before we left since we were asked to wash extra towels on our own.
There is only one light outside leading to the beach, and the bulb is hanging by exposed wires. We replaced the bulb and the GFI had to be reset, but it's only a matter of time before it goes out again.
While there is no central heating, the individual room heaters and the fireplace do a great job of warming up the cabin! It did take us a few minutes to figure things out since we didn't know about it ahead of time. Once we figured it out though we were very comfortable.
The dilapidated treehouse on the beach is a serious safety hazard and needs to either be repaired or completely removed.
Drain in the shower doesn't work, but it wasn't an issue. We knew about it going in, and the amazing water pressure in the shower more than made up for it! Thanks to previous reviews we knew that the hot water was limited, so we were able to space out our showers.
The propane tank for the grill was completely empty when we arrived, so we filled it at Robin's Roost.
Space in the cabin is VERY limited, and the extra microwave on the counter takes up A LOT of much needed space.
Overall we were pleased with our stay, it was quiet and peaceful at the cabin. We loved waking up in the morning and watching the sunrise over the lake from the beach. Perfect way to start your day! Little things aside, we enjoyed our time here.
