Our trip started off with some trouble as I totally messed up my dates when booking my accommodations, and arrived very late the evening before I was actually supposed to arrive. It was already close to 11pm so I wasn't able to reach the host, Katherine, but luckily for us there was a motel 5 minutes away that was able to accommodate us for the night.
I did reach Katherine the next morning and she thankfully allowed us to check in early, such that we were able to unload our supplies and groceries, and still have enough time to head to the park for several attractions. If you are arriving after dark, just a heads up that the road to the cabin is right before the gas station if you are coming from the East, as it is hard to see. Once we returned from the park, we finally finished settling in, it was nice to sit on the rocking chairs out front and watch the sunset. The cabin is charming, with some quaint decorations themed towards Yellowstone. Its kitchen was well stocked with all the bowls and utensils one would need to prepare a decent meal for a small family. It is about a 15 min drive to West Yellowstone, so perhaps not the most convenient spot if you forget something, so plan your meals in advance. They do have a BBQ on their back patio as well, but we used the stove and oven for all our cooking.
The furniture and beds were comfy, and we all slept in every morning. The only thing that was a bit challenging for me being 6'5" was using the half bath upstairs.
