This B&B-style hotel turned out to be an ideal starting point for exploring Isla del Sol. From the hotel grounds on a clear day, you get a stunning view of Lake Titicaca as well as snow-capped peaks of the cordillera off in the distance. Try going for an early-morning walk—the sunrise can´t be beat! In addition, the hotel is located near the center of Yumani; while it´s a steep hike up from the port, several decent restaurants are a short, easy walk away.
Our room was simple but spotless clean. The bed was comfortable, and the heater unit worked great. Unfortunately, I didn´t get the hot shower I had been hoping for; I was only able to get the water temperature up to lukewarm.
WiFi was available only in the common area and the staff asked us to keep use to a minimum, citing the hotel´s limited monthly data allotment. But this should come as no surprise if you´ve done much traveling in rural Bolivia.
Overall, we were delighted with our stay. We were especially grateful for the extra efforts the staff made to accommodate us—they provided us with useful sightseeing tips, and even prepared an early breakfast for us on the morning of our departure.
