Escape to Tides Cottage, the Pinnacle waterfront home in Irvington, Virginia. Upscale waterfront located on the famous Carter's Creek. The Nantucket-inspired cottage is newly renovated with high ceilings and loads of natural light. Enjoy waterfront living on Carters Creek at its BEST! Tides Cottage is the fun, happy place and only 5 minutes to town.

The home has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The kitchen is fully equipped for Gourmet dinning, with 3 barstools at the kitchen island and seating for 8 in the dining room. The family room offers ample seating with 2 large sofas and 2 comfortable chairs, perfect for group gatherings. Enjoy entertainment options such as DirectTV, board games, and a selection of novels. The main living area, dining room, kitchen, and primary bedroom all have 20’ vaulted ceilings.

The very PRIVATE deep water pier has 2 kayaks, a paddle board, custom built in seating, 2 lounge chairs along with sunshades and umbrellas to get out of the sun. Built in cooler for cold drinks. The pier is an amazing getaway. Crab and fish with provided nets and poles for fishing.

The main patio is conveniently accessible from the living and dining area, where you’ll have a delightful space to relax and socialize. This area features a sitting area, a gas fire pit, grill, picnic table, and Adirondack chairs.

The primary suite has a luxurious TempurPedic bed, an ensuite bath, and a secluded secondary patio where you can unwind in tranquility. The second and third bedrooms each offer queen beds and are conveniently located near a full bath, providing ample space and comfort for your guests. For added privacy, a fourth loft bedroom is on the second floor with its own private full bath. All linens and towel are provided.

The pier is on deep water with 3 boat slips accommodating 60', 58' and 40' yachts. Two kayaks, a paddle board, 2 fishing poles, and 4 crab pots are provided for your entertainment. New updates this year to the pier include built-in seating, chaise lounges, sunshades, misters, water & electric, Yeti coolers, fish cleaning station, and lighting. A new floating dock is attached to the pier for easy launch of the paddle board and kayaks, or to help getting on and off your boat.

Nearby, find golf courses, restaurants, wineries, bakeries, a brewery, a public boat ramp, marinas, bars, an entertainment complex, and shopping. Tides Inn and downtown Irvington restaurants and shopping are a quick 5 minute walk from the cottage.

The cottage was spacious, welcoming, clean, and exceptionally well-appointed, inside and out. We enjoyed our week in Irvington and appreciated the owner's attention to detail. Amazing dock and water access, and perfect distance to and from town. We'll be back!

Tides Cottage
What a lovely property! Beautifully decorated a d such a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed kayaking on Carter’s Creek- walking over to the Tides inn- and biking to the Local for coffee in the mornings. The dock is absolutely wonderful and the views stunning!

A comfortable river house with perfect dock!
The epitome of a comfortable river house with all of the amenities for living on the water. Barry has thought of everything both inside and out. If you have a boat, the dock is spectacular. Easy walk to the Tides Inn and fun to bike into town. We will return!

Great house for family vacation
This house was perfect for our family get away. It had everything we could possibly need. House was everything you see in pictures and more!! Taking trash to dump was really no big deal. We loved our time in Irvington!

Northern neck family retreat
Large premium house with outstanding water views and a dock. Multiple outside sitting areas made it great for my children & their spouses. Our toddler grandchild also did well. The large dining room table and we’ll equipped kitchen made meals a pleasure. The location is walkable to the town center. Including satellite TV was also good.

Beautiful Cottage and location.
We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed Dinner and lunches at Tides Inn and Trick Dog. We were in town looking for locations for our sons wedding this Fall. We will definitely book this cottage for then for the Wedding Party. The furnishings, views, location and outdoor spaces are great. I love Irvington. The owners were very helpful and easy to deal with.

Wonderful end to the summer
Wonderfully relaxing home at the “Rivah”, beautifully decorated, fully stocked and convenient location. If you are looking for a home at the river that will fit the entire family and accommodate your boat this is the house. It’s also nice to be near the Tides Inn for the nights you don’t want to cook. Zero complaints and Barry was super easy to work with.

Sweet Visit with a Sour End
The house and location are exceptional for a river vacation or getaway. It is a beautifully decorated, comfortable and well equipped house for a short or long stay with family or just yourselves. The only initial problems we encountered were a dislike for the taste of the water so quickly stocked up from the Walmart in a nearby town. There is also a requirement by your host for you to collect all of your trash from your stay and take it to the local dump. This is not an activity one usually wants to do when vacationing. This was not the total cause of a sour ending. Due to many factors, we were confused about the departure date. The documents were clear but we just had not reviewed them for months and at some point our dates did change. This was our mistake because the lease was clear. The owner had promised an early check-in for the next tenant so needless to say this created a problem. Once we got a call from the owner we rushed back from a nearby beach to pack and get out. Let me say that once everyone figured out what happened the owner was not particularly nice about the misunderstanding. We were out of the house an hour after the call from the owner with 2 babies and a week's worth of trash in tow. To add to the stress of the day we received berating texts from the owner first telling us to leave 3 times the cleaning rate already paid for having the cleaning crew come back and letting us know he found children's handprints on the windows plus drips of water from their bottles. To add additional insult we received an email a week later from the rental travel insurance company that the owner had filed a claim for a new cooktop. This policy was required before renting. Let me be very clear. I quickly admitted the checkout mistake and offered to get us out quickly as well as pay for any fees the cleaning company was charging extra. We did not destroy his electric stovetop. It worked fine for us and upon departure we took pictures of every room including the kitchen showing how well we were able to leave the house. If anything happened to the stovetop it was after we left. Plus since he was comfortable in complaining about kid's fingerprints I am sure he would have let us know about something like a stovetop. I have been renting and staying at vacation homes throughout the world much longer that this owner has hosted this home. I know good hosts and this is not how a host deals with problems.

Perfect!
We rented this property to celebrate my birthday and it was the perfect space to relax and rejuvenate! Check-in was a breeze and I was incredibly grateful for the easy communication with the property owner. We had a few minor questions pop up during our stay and he was always very quick to politely respond. The house is meticulously maintained from the gorgeous kitchen, large well-stocked bathrooms, and all the way down to the dock. The layout is also maximized for comfort, and everyone felt like they had their own space which really helped on a day when the weather wasn't so great. I could have stayed at the house for the entire trip, but the proximity to great restaurants and shopping was a huge plus! The Tides Inn, The Local, The Office Bistro, Dredge, etc. were all fun excursions. I really cannot say enough great things about this property and am so excited to return again soon! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
