Great, cozy cabin with straight access to towering woods and short walk to river nearby.
Has everything you’ll need: plenty of cooking gear, DVDs, linens, fire pit, and woodsy charm.
David was a very accommodating owner who is always reachable and quick to respond to questions or fix anything that may seem wrong (like promptly coming over to light a heater pilot light).
The property couldn’t have been better. Cozy, CLEAN, comfortable, will definitely consider staying again. Great selection of books and movies as well. The location couldn’t have been better. Thanks again, David.
It was a great, peaceful place to stay. We hope to go back in the future.

Should not be on the market for rent
I gagged as soon as I entered the cabin the smell dead mice/ feces was prevalent in the kitchen masked by a heavy air freshener fragrance
It should be more of a vetting process before these properties go for rent
this property should not be up on the market for rent

Will not stay there again!
Beyond very poor. Currently working thru the resolution process with VRBO which is a very slow process.
Peaceful little getaway for my husband and I. The communication and check in process was great! We had everything we needed and more. Could use a little dusting and cleaning of cobwebs, but hey, it’s a cabin in the woods! We enjoyed our time away and loved the added cabin feel with the wood burner!
The cabin was exactly as advertised. David was a great host and even personally showed us some hunting spots in the national forest. Couldn't have asked for a better experience

Very dusty, cobwebs everywhere, smelled awful. Overall Disappointing
The cabin does look like the pictures on the listing. It is a good size and could be very charming and cozy if it was not so dirty and smelled so awful. The owner lists no smoking yet it is very evident it’s smoked in. To make it worse the attempt of covering up the smoke smell was unbearable. We thankfully had friends staying in another cabin where we could hang out for the day or we could not have stayed even one night. We toughed it out through one night but could not stay our second night as scheduled. We couldn’t even stay to relax in the cabin, it was that bad. Dirty with cob webs and dusty everywhere. I would expect a few here and there but did not look as if any real cleaning had been done in months. The kitchen smelled like food was stuck in the drain and the sponges we saw under the sink were so gross. As a renter if I’m to pay a cleaning fee I expect the place to be clean when I arrive. Literally the only thing we did in the cabin was sleep the one night. Could not use the kitchen as it just felt so unclean.
I did give 1 star because the bathroom towels did smell clean and the one bed we used looked to have clean sheets. Our kids couldn’t seep on the bunks bc of the smoke smell on them. It’s listed as sleeping 4 yet there were only 2 shower towels in the bathroom.
From the pictures and reading reviews it appeared to be cozy and a good option for our family. Sadly we can not recommend this to anyone we know.
If you’re a smoker you might not mind, but then the listing should say it’s a smokers cabin. Worst VRBO experience we’ve ever had 😞
With a little or a lot of TLC David’s cabin could be much improved.
Came for a 2-night stay with my girlfriend. The property is beautifully nestled away in in Irons MI. The cabin is a 30 minute drive from Manistee. It comes with a beautiful wood stove, utensils, bathroom with shower, ac, etc. David is an amazing owner who goes above and beyond to make sure that your stay is not only amazing but well accommodated. I’d highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a cozy and relaxing retreat!
