Urquhart Bay Croft is a brand new luxury self-catered renovation with beautiful views across Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart.

Downstairs it has a double height entrance hallway, one king-size bedroom, and separate family bathroom, while upstairs it boasts a fully equipped open plan kitchen/dining area, lounge with comfy sofa and free standing log burner, and double doors opening to decked area and the wider south facing garden.
We are Simon and Annie Greenlay. We first saw Urquhart Bay cottage in 2014 and fell in love with it. We have run Urquhart Bay BnB for 2yrs(see our other listings for reviews). We knew immediately that we wanted to live in this peaceful place with its one-of-a-kind views over Loch Ness.

The Croft is our latest project that we have put our heart and soul into, and look forward to sharing it with our guests.

The Croft is ideally situated close to the beautiful Highland village of Drumnadrochit, and is only a 2 minute walk from the iconic Urquhart Castle. It sits in extensive private gardens to explore offering stunning views of Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart.

Downstairs, there is a large kingsize bedroom with original bothy window offering views from the bed across the loch, and a separate luxury bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower with rain head. Upstairs, there is a large open plan kitchen/diner and lounge with free standing log burner, that also has a pull out sofa bed for children. We have worked with local craftsmen to restore and enhance the original building, so that you are never far from a view of the Loch(even from your bed!), and couldn’t be closer to the iconic Urquhart Castle, just a few minutes’ walk away.

For the cosier evenings we have a large log burner, SMART TV and high speed WiFi available throughout.

The Croft is furnished to a very high standard, with many items hand crafted and knitted. Guests can expect high quality toiletries, Egyptian cotton linen throughout, and we are happy to provide fresh eggs from our free range highland hens.

The Croft is a great base to explore the highlands, and there are many walking routes directly from the doorstep to explore the local views across the iconic Loch, or bump into some of the local wildlife such as many local deer or birds of prey who live near the Loch.

We have plenty of parking available and are a short walk from the local village of Drumnadrochit.

Lovely Croft Stay
We had a lovely stay at this croft loctaed right off Loch Ness. It was well appointed and the host made sure we were comfortable for the entire stay. The croft is located within 30 mins of many of the major attractions in the Inverness area. We couldn't have asked for a better view of Loch Ness having our breakfast every morning!

Perfectly Lovely!
We wanted to enjoy Loch Ness away from the "city" and this location was perfect! The view from every window was breathtaking. The trail "up the mountain" gave us a spectacular view of the castle and water. We were able o walk to a restaurant for dinner as well. I have already recommended to others.

We had a wonderful week in this cute and beautiful Croft. Everything you need, was there and the sourroundings were simply amazing. Simon gave us some recommendations for possible trips which we all did. Especially the Isle of Skye and the Plodda Falls are worth it. The Croft is a house where you can totally relax after a long day of hiking. We were sad when the time of saying goodbye had come.

Lovely Home, Setting and Location
My husband and I stayed at this lovely croft for three nights on our tour through the highlands. The natural setting and convenient location to the sights and sounds of the highlands was perfect for our desire to site-see and relax. We were able to walk to Urquhart Castle and experience some of the history of this area of Loch Ness. The Fall colors were breathtaking. My husband was able to play golf at a nearby links course. We were close enough to Inverness to have some time in a small Scottish city. Culloden Battlefield and the Clava Cairns were a 1/2 hour away. Awe inspiring. We enjoyed several dinners, in the nearby village of Drumnadrochit, at The Fiddler and Loch Ness Inn. And then there was the Croft. Situated on a lovely property on the bank of Urquhart Bay and overlooking Loch Ness with stunning views from every room. Simon and Annie provided us with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. We picked up a few necessities in the grocery store down the road but they had already provided coffee, tea and other essentials. I enjoyed sunrise coffee on the back deck while my husband slept in. Very comfy bed!!! After a long journey from Edinburgh I was delighted to have the soaking tub. Who doesn't love a long, hot bath after travel? The only regret we had was that we were'nt able to stay longer. It is definitely a place where you could settle in for a week of comfort and relaxation. I hope that we will be able to return someday and, once again, enjoy the beauty and comfort of this lovely location. Wonderful Property, great location
This property was an absolute dream. Fantastic views of Loch Ness, walking distance to Urquhart Castle, spacious, quiet, peaceful and clean. It was a bit difficult to find for the first time in the dark as it gets quite dark in Scotland, but that was more due to my unfamiliarity with the area than the instructions that were given. I would still recommend trying to arrive with light left in the day because the view of Loch Ness is nothing short of spectacular. I highly recommend this property and will be hoping to book it again when we return.

Loch Ness Cottage
The property is well situated just outside of Drumnadrochit with wonderful views of Loch Ness and the hills beyond. It provided a perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Simon and Annie are wonderful hosts, with Simon providing suggestions of places to see and restaurants to eat at. It was much appreciated.

Beautiful warm and inviting Croft overlooking Loch Ness
Annie and Simon have used imagination and great attention to detail in creating this beautiful croft; a successful fusion of contemporary open-space design along with areas - and some intriguing furnishings - that great granny would have owned. This is all set off by a very warm and genuine welcome into a vacation home that contains everything you'll need - the bedside drawer even contained some quality condoms (a first in our almost forty years of world travel together!). Heating throughout is excellent, parking is right at your front door. This croft is in the top five worldwide of any self-catering accommodation we have ever rented. Keith & Lynne-Marie

Simon and Annie were the best possible hosts you could have. The Croft and bed and breakfast far exceeded our exceptions! They could not of made us more welcome and of been more accommodating. Beautifully located loch view.
The owner Simon was there to meet us and showed us round he,s property. The views and facilities are as good if not better than the information and pictures on the website, and Simon recommended walks and places to visit while we were there. Hope to get back there end of year hopefully.
