Nestled along the stunning shoreline, the house provided the perfect winter escape for our family over a long weekend. Despite a storm rolling through, the cozy atmosphere of the house made it feel like a true haven.The house itself exceeded our expectations. It was more than adequate in size, offering plenty of room for everyone to relax and unwind without feeling crowded. The amenities were fantastic – from a well-equipped kitchen to comfortable living spaces, every detail was thoughtfully provided to ensure a comfortable stay.What truly made this location special was its proximity to the shore. Waking up to the sound of waves and stepping outside to take in the breathtaking coastal views was an absolute treat. Even during the stormy weather, the charm of Annagary and its rugged beauty shone through.This staycation was a perfect blend of comfort and adventure. Whether it was cozying up indoors with the family or braving the elements to explore the surrounding area, we felt completely at home. Annagary is a gem, and we can’t wait to return – hopefully next time with clearer skies!Jim (The Host), although never met in person was very quick and clear with communication and allowed us a couple extra hours to check out than listed which we really appreciated. "The house exceeded our expectations! We stayed over the Christmas holidays and the house was beautifully decorated for the season. Everywhere we looked there were sweet Christmas touches. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We were welcomed to the home with a nice assortment of goodies including a bottle pf wine, local coffee and other local treats. We had two infants under the age of one and two baby cots were available for us. The location was great as the house is situated about 10 minutes from Donegal town and minutes away from two- 5-star hotels. It is a great location for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. The view of Lough Eske is amazing. Upon check in we were greeted by a double rainbow over the lake! The property manager, Kristina, was very attentive to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommended this property. "

"Property is beautiful and positioned well for visits along the Wild Atlantic Way. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Note - if you are from the US some of the heating and water terminology will confound you so ask questions of the host. There are instructions but are tricky if you are new to these systems. We had a bit of a delay in receiving texts so it took a bit. Once we had it sorted everything was fine. Absolutely comfy beds and lots of space. There were only three of us so we only used two out of the four bedrooms. All were lovely and we could easily have had two more couples along and no one would have felt like they got the bad bedroom. Views from the house are gorgeous. "

"Very warm and friendly welcome. Check in was very easy. Room was very clean, comfortable, and warm. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was very, very good - highly recommend their fish dishes. This is a gem of a hotel and we will definitely stay here again. Very convenient to Donegal airport (Carrickfinn). Compliments to all the staff members we interacted with - very professional and friendly."

"The house is clean and spacious Comes with everything Stayed during a severe storm which took out the hydro but the owner had someone there to check but it was the local hydro who were quick to fix in the morning Other than that the stay is wonderful Must visit the Rusty Mackerel and the cliffs close by "

"Ballydevitt Retreat is a comfortable home away from home in a great location. It is removed from the business of the town but an easy walk to the town Diamond. The home is spacious and comfortable. Paula, the host, communicates very quickly and is excellent at making sure guests have all their questions answered. I highly recommend this as a place to stay while exploring County Donegal."
