Nine adults and 5 children ages 9 and under stayed at this home. The layout was good for our needs, with one of the 2-bed rooms having enough space to add a pack n' play and a child's cot at the foot of the beds. There was sufficient room on the main floor to "hang out" without being too crowded, and the large living room was wonderful, with lots of floor space and comfy couches. Though there's not much yard space, the adjacent (unused at the time) parking lot was perfect for playing ball, jumprope, riding a balance bike for the very young ones, etc. The large wrap-around porch got lots of use, daytime and evening, with our group.
The location was perfect for what we wanted, as the beach at Burt Lake was so close, and the Mackinac Bridge and Petoskey weren't very far away. The just-down-the-street playground was so nice and got lots of use, as well as the large, grassy area beside it for playing frisbee, etc.. The nearby river was available for fishing too.
As another review stated, it's an old, creaky house, and you hear pretty much every footstep, running water, and flushes. But I don't think any of us minded that too much.
No dishwasher.
There were, however, two items that were unpleasant--the laundry area is in a (dirty) Michigan Basement, (but washer and drier are nice.) Also, the main floor's bathroom has a tub and shower that's not nearly as nice as the upstairs bathroom.
All in all, we had a wonderful experience!
PS We loved Wilson's Restaurant.
