Summary:
Amos Cabin is your go-to destination for a tranquil and serene escape. THE original index cabin nestled in the huckleberries, with a river front hot tub and a King bed loft for the perfect view of the river.

The cabin is designed with entertainment in mind, with a large back deck and kitchen to host the best gatherings. Enhance your experience with an epic firepit overlooking the river, perfect for roasting marshmallows and sharing stories. Come relax and enjoy your stay at Index Cabins.

The Space:
Welcome to Amos Cabin! We are a short-term rental located in the PNW foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Our cabin is the perfect getaway for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and reconnect with nature. This property is nestled by a river and is surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife.

When you stay at Amos Cabin, you will find a full open stainless steel kitchen sporting custom concrete counter tops, a classic wood burning stove living area, and a king bed upstairs room overlooking the river. Our outdoor amenities include a large deck, riverside hot tub, and a spectacular fire pit. The cabin sleeps 4 adults and two children (in the pictured "kid nook") with the "2nd Bedroom" being a queen pull out sofa in the living room.

Guest Access:
Amos Cabin, private riverfront firepit, riverfront hot tub, covered propane fire hang spot, the acre of grass field, the private forest walking trails behind The Treeframe, and The North Fork of The Skykomish river.

The Neighborhood:
Index is located in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains; the summit of Mount Index is located 3 miles (4.8 km) south of the town. The Index Town Walls, granite cliffs up to 500 feet (150 m) high, are located on the northern edge of the town. These walls are popularly used for rock climbing, offering a variety of high-quality cracks for this purpose. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.23 square miles (0.60 km2), all of it land.

Index is located on the North Fork Skykomish River, just above its confluence with the main channel of the Skykomish River. The Skykomish River's Sunset Falls, a nearly 300-foot-long (91 m) granite chute that drops some 100 feet (30 m), is located approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) from the town (on the South Fork Skykomish River).[citation needed] In December 1980, the Skykomish River flooded the town and destroyed eight homes.

The town is located 1 mile (1.6 km) north of US Highway 2, approximately 25 miles (40 km) west of Stevens Pass. The BNSF railroad, formerly the Great Northern Railway, runs through the middle of the town. Index was once an important stop for the mining (particularly Monte Cristo and Galena) and timber activities north of its location.

Other Things to Note:
We now offer grocery service! Please send us your list to have your fridge and pantry stocked.

Please bring your own firewood.

Bedding for the sleeper sofa is in the storage bench in the dining room. It was made from a fir tree that blew down on the property. Please be careful opening & closing, it is heavy.

The 2 baseboard heaters do a good job but to heat the main floor over 70 degrees you'll need to have a fire.

Any additional guest must be cleared by host, additional fees may apply.

Amos Cabin is on a riverfront gated 5 acre property with 5 other small cabins. Persis Cabin is pretty close but the spaces are wonderful. It is nice to rent Persis in conjunction with Amos.

Riverfront cabin
Very cute and cozy cabin right on the river with beautiful river and Mountain Views. Hot tub was a great feature and there is a path to the riverbed. Very close to town where there is a small general store and one small restaurant (inside a historic hotel, limited menu but good food). There are a cluster of cabins on the property but it still felt very private. Driveway is gated which made it feel secure. Only downside is bedroom is upstairs (with tight spiral staircase) and only bathroom is downstairs so going to the bathroom in the middle of the night was not the easiest, but we knew that going into the booking and it’s definitely not a deal breaker. Host was very attentive and communicative. I would definitely stay here again or book another of Nicks properties.

Lovely Time
We went in the winter and it was beautiful. The cabin is perfectly situated next to the river with amazing views. There is so much to do in that area and it was easy to get in and out of town to explore and get groceries. The hosts were extremely helpful with information. The hot tub was amazing! Thank you for an amazing stay.

Amos cabin
Had a great time with this property accompanied by our pups. The location is great for secluded get away with a Riverside location for the property. Although there are five other properties in the vicinity, there is limited interaction with the other renters. The Amos cabin is spacious and provides you with basic necessities. Kitchen is great in the bedroom has a separate room for children to sleep, although it is not a separate room from the main. Beware that the spiral stairs are a bit of a challenge for nothing to challenging to handle. In terms of the outside the hot tub was a great time and the river also provides you with activities to do. Overall great stay. Do bring firewood though.
