Lesson Learned
After reading reviews from renters past, I was hesitant to book this location; but being that it was a busy weekend nearby, our options were slim. When we arrived at the property, upon walking in, you were hit with the smell of cat, or rodent urine. The air was stale in the home, so it was very pungent. As the A/C unit in the living room didn't work, we were never able to solve this problem. It just kept baking in during the day, if you will. And obviously, not having A/C in the common areas of the house was an issue. Our 3 year old was playing on the floor in the living room (on a rug) and before we knew it, she was displaying signs of an allergic reaction. Sure enough, her pants were covered in pet hair. Upon further inspection later, we looked under the furniture and it was as if an entire animal were shed there. We were aware that this was a pet-friendly home and we have stayed in other pet-friendly homes as well. We have never had an issue where the home was not thoroughly cleaned though. In the home there is a sign that mentions the color of the water and the fact that it is iron-rich, but safe. Fine. We verified this to be sure, but what you don't know is that if you have a white, or light colored item you need to rinse in the tub; it will be brown afterward. Just an FYI. When we arrived at we the home we tried to contact the property manager via phone and email and never received a response. We did reach out to Evolve and they were kind enough to help us.

Grandma’s Cottage
The cottage was very quaint and quiet. Even though it is near a road we payed no attention to passing cars. My daughter summoned it up as staying Grandma’s cottage. She loved it and she’s 15. Coming from her that was a big compliment. Great location to the things we wanted to do. People in the area are very nice as well. We will make a return visit.

Was just "okay for price"
Busy street and photos are a bit enhanced. Upon walking in, there was a VERY strong odor of air freshener covering up an "older home smell" (i wasnt expecting a new house smell and was okay with the natural smell of the home, however the freshener was waaaaay too strong and gave a headache and sore throat) The two bedrooms were clean (except for someone elses socks in a corner of one of them. The kitchen stove and countertops were clean as well, however sticky floor where you could see spills had happened and the table cover needed a scrubbing from crumbs and slight stickiness. The couch/futon (which we had to use for the size of our party) was full of dog hair as was the carpet. I found the vacuum but when I tried to use it, is just spit out even more dust and fuzz :( I used a broom to get the best I could but obviously it wasnt great. Had to use blankets to cover so our son could sleep on it. The home needs many updates. The TV picture is going so everything was dark and/or red. This had nothing to do with fixing the color in the tv settings. Air conditioners only in the bedrooms, so on hit days the house is quite a bit stuffy and no portable fans. The grass was overgrown and the garbage can was full to the top. I emailed the owner via the email supplied (i had no phone service) to hipefully address several of these concerns within 2 hours of arriving and got NO RESPONSE. If I wasnt afraid of losing this $$ and having to pay for another place, I honestly would have found another place. But for the price and the fmfact that the beds and toilet and oven were clean, I made the best of it. I dont think I should have to pay the cleaning fee though as i cleaned what wasnt clean! they clearly need a new cleaner..

Love the big eat in kitchen. Very well supplied. The whole house is comfortable and much preferred over a hotel room. TV could use some attention.

Great little cottage
Loved the old farmhouse look of this cottage! Bathroom needs an update, but the owner says that's the next thing on his agenda. Easy to get to, quiet and surprisingly roomy for a small house. Really enjoyed our stay!

Infested With Mice and Mold
Drove up to a cute and well manicured property on the outside. Once inside and unpacking my groceries I quickly started finding mouse feces in all the kitchen cabinets, drawers ( feces on the silverware), and baseboards. There was even a bowl of candy on the kitchen counter with half eaten candy and mouse poop all throughout. I pulled the nightstand out in the bedroom to find a plug for my cell phone and the wall behind was covered with mold. I can't believe how filthy this place was and a complete health hazard. I won't even get into how stained everything in the bathroom was or how the water pressure was barely a trickle. Unfortunately I had no where else to go on such short notice and was stuck here. I went across the street to the convenience store and bought plasticware and bleach so that I could at least try to clean what I had to touch. I wish I could include the pictures I have showing how disgusting it was.

Cozy Cottage
Stayed 5 nights at this location. It's a older property. Nothing to fancy. It's simple, functional, with easy access. Best value for a tight budget. Better rates than any of the local hotels. Owners were polite, professional, and responded quickly to resolve a technical issue we had with the TV and wireless access. Property is pet friendly. However, it is located next to a busy highway with no fenced in area. There is a charcoal grill, and picnic table. Beware of the backyard! There is a square concrete well with no cap. Anyone could easily climb over, slide under or get in between the rails of the fence. Overall positive experience and would difinitly stay again.

Misrepresented
We unfortunately had to leave this property the first night we were there due to not having any cell phone reception, nor WiFi. There was no way for us to access the WiFi as we believe the owner keeps the modem/router in their business that is right beside the house. The rental listing failed to advise that the water in the area would be yellow/orange in color. The GPS did not take us to the property when we first arrived to the area and we had to double back and actively look for the property based on the picture in the listing. The photos that were used for the listing were obviously altered to make the property look nicer than it was and had a very noticeable musty odor when entering. We made the decision to leave the property for safety reasons as we had no way to contact anyone in case we needed to. We notified the property manager, Armando, about the WiFi issues, but did not receive a response until the next morning, after spending the night in a hotel in the next town over. This was the worst experience we have had renting through HomeAway/VRBO and would not recommend renting through Evolve Property Management due to the lack of responses and overall neglect of the property and it’s listed amenities. We will be demanding a full refund for our trip due to being misled by the rental listing.
