"Close to bus station. Close to stone steps. Older hotel but staff was very nice. Near steep hill, so I walked about 50 yards to ask staff at driveway if this was the hotel I was looking for. Then he ran up the hill to help us with our bags. I was very pleased."

"I really enjoyed my stay at Kashiwaya Ryokan. Although it was long to get to without a car, it was worth the travel. The 2 days there didn’t feel like it was enough time. I will return again for sure. The room was comfortable, the private onsen were beautiful and amazing. The kaiseki served at dinner were delicious and perfectly balanced. "We lived tge service, location. The food was scrumptious and hosy even gave us a taste of her homemade ume sake. Delish. We hVe been trying to find one lije it but they all paked compared to hers. "The outdoor private onsen is amazing. Staff with limited English but willing to help. The booking system for the private onsen is based on first come first serve, no reservation ahead so you have to keep calling front desk to check for availability....that needs to be changed. Other than that, I'd recommend it to those who enjoy traditional Japanese Ryokan."

"早くに駐車場に着きましたが、とても気持ち良く受け入をしていただきました。この後の予定は観光ですか？と聞かれたので、ちょっと観光をしてみようかと思っていますと言うと、では石段まで送迎しますねと言って頂きとても助かりました。お食事も自分達に合わせて次の品を出して頂きとてもゆったりとした時間を過ごせました。お部屋の名前にあった装飾でとても素晴らしいかったです♪ ゆったりとした時間、癒しを求めて一度訪れて見てはいかがでしょうか。"

"昭和の頃の建物のようでトイレは和式を改装し洋式になっていましたが古さは隠せません。携帯の電波も弱くWi-Fiの環境も無いため若い人には向かないと思います。ただ割烹旅館だけあり料理はとても美味しく楽しめました。また周囲が公園と住宅街という事もあり静かで良かったです。"

"It was perfect for our family of three. Walking distance to the station and arena. The stairs to the kitchen living room area are a little steep. Bedrooms, bathroom, and laundry are down stairs."

Found a good new hotel brand WITH an ONSEN!

"Great hotel. I may continue to use them in the future if they are available in my travel destination locales. Basic amenities are always available at the ground floor. Staff was friendly. Onsen was practical, but most importantly, it has an outdoor ONSEN. I only wonder if the women's ONSEN is designed differently, as they don't switch the onsen's on different days. If I did have a single complaint, it would be that they only provide (1) pillow per bed, and that the design of the pillow may not be for everyone. It's the type where the edges of the pillow have a thicker fluff anf firmness, and then towards the center of the pillow, there is a dip/concavity. I struggled to find a comfortable pillow rotation for me. Again, that's my only personal issue with the stay. "

"Our stay was great. Checkin was easy just use the machine add your details and get code of the room. Room was good, we had view of Shinkansen and trains. Breakfast was delicious we loved it and again checkout was easy. Cheerful and helpful staff, clean hotel and delicious healthy breakfast. Thank you hotel Sun!!!"
