"Beautiful quite (off the path a bit) location on the lake, walkable road/trail and a few steps from cows and farmland, or to a few beach towns but surrounded by nice summer and permanent homes as this location is commutable to Munich. Great patio and restaurant that fills up with locals in the evenings as not a lot of other restaurants in the area."

"Throughly enjoyed our stay, such a beautiful setting. Staff very pleasant & helpful. In particular our evening meal in the restaurant was exceptional. We live just outside London and having dined at numerous restaurants in the capital they could charge double. Though the hotel lets itself down on a few points that are easily rectified. Firstly there are signs for the Cafe but there isn’t one. Nor is there a bar. More than once we had to literally go into the kitchen to get hold of someone to request a drink. If you’re not going to have these facilities & serve people then your staff need to be present and attentive. The hotel has a number of rooms which don’t appear to serve any purpose these be converted to a bar or cafe. Plus no air conditioning in the rooms make for an uncomfortable night sleep. "

"We loved staying at the Flachshaus. The home had everything we needed with plenty of space for our group of 8 (5 adults and 3 children) to eat together and hang out in the evening. The house is new and very beautiful and functional. Each sleeping space has its own bathroom with shower, which was so convenient for us. The house is near several dairy farms and our family loved seeing the cows (don't worry, there was no smell). It is also near the lovely city of Murnau and very close to several beautiful lakes, including Riegsee and Staffelsee. The surrounding area is very picturesque, with the alps as a backdrop. The host was so kind and gracious. We would definitely stay here again!"
