"Such a unique living experience. Living in an own personal hut near the mountains is such a great way to be in the nature. Private parking available. There is limited hot water in the room but this is a given when living more off the grid. "

What they’ve done with the old farmhouse is absolutely stunning—the blend of rustic charm and modern comfort created such a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Every detail felt thoughtful and authentic, and it was clear a lot of care went into preserving the farmhouse’s character. One of the highlights was being able to interact with the horses on the property. It added such a peaceful, magical touch to the experience and made us feel even more connected to the beautiful Icelandic countryside. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer! Next time, we’ll definitely plan for an extended visit. Highly recommend this unique and charming stay to anyone looking for a memorable experience off the beaten path."

"Hotel Selja sits alone in a vast, flat landscape with stunning views. You'd not think much of it when driving up to it, but once inside, you're greeted by warm staff members and cozy, bright rooms. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. We had a very yummy dinner there served on short notice and received with much gratitude. The breakfast buffet had everything we could want to start our day - it was delicious. It's a perfect overnight location for catching the early morning ferry out to Heimaey Island. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

"We truly had a wonderful stay at Midgard basecamp! The staff were fantastic, the room was comfortable, the amenities were amazing(special shoutout to the shoe drying station) and the restaurant was delicious. We will gladly return next time we are in the area. Ps: we also booked a guided tour with them and it was a truly fantastic experience and a highlight of our trip, we can't recommend it enough!"
