"The service provided by the local team at Gisborough Hall was of the highest order, but more important was the fact that staff were always cheerful and displayed a positive demeanour which is so sadly lacking in many hotels and restaurants in this country today. We felt like we were visiting family during our stay and will look forward to returning."

"Unfortunately not a perfect stay which was very disappointing with it being my husband’s birthday, booked through Hotels.com so not allowed to use the pool unless we paid £45 each, I have never heard of this before.The rooms are very nice but paying £5 for nut or crisps is ridiculous. The breakfast was very underwhelming with minimal choice, awful cold poached eggs, cold plates, weak coffee, all left me feeling very sick! Not worth £291 for one night. "

"Lovely hotel,gorgeous room,we stayed in Las Vegas and this room was so big and airy. Debbie was so helpful and approachable,she helped with everything including bus tine-tables. Only 15 mins to whitby but Hinderwell was a lovely village if you wanted to stay local, a few pubs in the village. There is a bus stop that runs direct to whitby every half hour,this is directly outside the hotel. The cottages and barns looked gorgeous and I will most definitely return again in summer months. Breakfast was also lovely,so many options for continental. Again Debbie was welcoming and helpful at breakfast. Thankyou for the lovely stay . "

"Great pub food, really friendly staff and clean rooms. Couldn’t recommend Penny Hedge enough. Breakfast was good value for money too. Right beside Whitby Gin if you want to go in for a tour. Walk down into Whitby was easy enough but uphill on the way back! "

"Fabulous hotel on the edge of Malton. Room was huge with a great view over the gardens and river, though if you get room 11 or 12 its a bit hidden away and not properly signed from the staircase. Highlight of the stay was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was professional , courteous and surprisingly all local"
