Luxury Cabin Minutes to Raystown Lake; HOT TUB, Firepit, Arcade

The Chocolate Moose Chalet is 10 minutes away from Raystown Lake. This home was designed for you and your large group to stay!! It has a hot tub, fire pit, grill, and an arcade with over 3,000 games! Come join the fun!

Whether you like to be at the lake or in the mountains enjoying the views, this is a win-win property. Go boating, hiking, mountain biking, hunting on the federal grounds, to a Penn State game, to a lake beach, water park, or gather with a large group of friends/family!! This home is perfectly designed for an extended family reunion, baby shower, church retreat, anything but a wild party :)

The Chocolate Moose Chalet has something for every season and age group!! Sit outside on the large deck and watch an amazing sunrise as you sip your coffee or snuggle up inside or outdoors by the fire pit. Grab a nice soak early in the morning or late at night with 100% privacy. Have a huge meal together around the handrafted wooden dinning room table that seats 12. There is a ton of space to prepare and enjoy a meal.

Raystown Lake and Seven Points Marina is 10 minutes away down the mountain! Bring your boat and trailer! Our home has plenty of parking!! Or rent a boat, wave runner, or kayak. Raystown Lake is unique in that it is 28 miles of lake (8,300 acres) to to explore!! It is surrounded by Federal Game Land, all preserved in its natural habitat. This means no homes on Raystown Lake have private access to the water. Our home is great that it is still very close to the lake! Be sure to be on the lookout for American eagles in the tree tops looking for fish in the early morning or soaring on the thermals in the afternoon!! The deer love to come in too as there are plenty of wooden areas around. There are two beach areas on the lake, two restaurants to dock the boat and get something to eat or get gas for the boat right on the water. Also, many little private coves and areas to explore!

We take pride in our home, and want you to feel at home when you are our guest. We take cleanliness seriously and will do our best to make sure everything is perfect for your vacation. We provide more so you can pack less: linens, blankets, sheets, towels, hands towels, dish soaps, dish towels, a full stocked gourmet kitchen, refrigerator, and games for the kids (and adults). Best house in Raystown
Our group comes to Raystown every year and this is by far the nicest property we have stayed in. The house is clean and well stocked. The owners are extremely responsive and helpful. We had the best time here!

Quiet mountain retreat
Myself and a large group of friends and their families rented the chocolate moose for our annual getaway. The home was beautiful and within a good distance of things to do to keep the little ones entertained. Property manager was responsive when we needed to contact regarding a minor issues as well.

Beautiful and Private
Our group had a great time at the Chocolate Mouse Chalet this summer! We loved how private and quiet the area was. There was amble space for our belongings. We really enjoyed the spacious deck around the home and cleanliness was overachieved.

Nice house for extended family weekend
Property was very nice and well represented - private with a nice outside area and wrap around porch that gives space for large groups. One concern was the sofabed in the basement, which is not usable.

Great House
Great house in the woods. Just up for the weekend with some old college buddies for a fantasy football draft. Everyone liked the layout. All amenities were as listed. House was in top shape. Strong wifi network. Did not personally use but was told hot tub was nice. Would stay again.

Thanksgiving gem
Had a wonderful experience during our stay at Chocolate moose lodge. We had two families coming together for the holiday and away time. The communication was good with management team. Home had almost every amenity you would need (even for Thanksgiving meal). The house was set up perfectly for two separate living spaces for two children under two for quiet time. Can’t even imagine what a summer visit would be like.

Won’t come back
The house itself it’s nice, there is a time restriction on water heart, which it’s only 100 Gallon for the entire house, so don’t plan on hot water, WiFi is awful doesn’t work, there is drip buckets under the sinks which are full of water and smell so bad, should fix the leaks. We all decided to leave two days earlier since not water with young kids was a no go for us

Wonderful private home in the trees
We have just returned home from the Chocolate Moose Chalet. My siblings and our father(87years) met here for a 3 night siblings weekend (9adults). The home is beautifully maintained, with everything you need. We had brought a few of our own pots etc, just in case, but found we packed them right back into our bags. The porch is the best part of the home, you feel as if you are in the trees and we spent most of our time there. Unfortunately it was a very rainy weekend so did not get to explore the area much beyond a quick trip to the beach area on the lake. We did manage to have a fire in the fire pit every night between rain storms, there was even fire wood ready for our use! But we enjoyed ourselves just being together in this wonderful home. We all agree that this may be a repeat vacation for us in the future.

Nice place, but deceptive pricing
Let me start by saying the actual house was great. It was beautiful, in a nice location, and we enjoyed our stay a lot. What was frustrating for us was that the pricing was really deceptive. It was listed at a reasonable amount per night and we ended up paying (with owner fees and cleaning fees) almost double that. And then we found out we would need to bring our own towels and bed linens. For what felt like a large sum of additional fees, we were really frustrated about this. We didn't have the proper bedding sizing for the beds in the house, so we ended up bringing sleeping bags- which worked out fine. We also couldn't find some basics in the kitchen like a whisk or wine glasses. But again, as long as you are prepared for this it is fine. We had a nice weekend at the property.

Chocolate Moose Chalet
Home is really very nice. Lots of wood inside with vaulted ceilings. Enough bathrooms and plenty of hot water and water pressure. Geothermal air conditioning worked really well. The weather was beautiful, and all enjoyed sitting out on the covered decks. Kitchen was definitely large enough to cook for our group. Would definitely recommend to others. To be helpful: Couches on main floor should be replaced. Bedroom on second floor: king mattress was said to be uncomfortable and window blind would not lower. Would have been nice to get everyone around the table to eat together at the same time. Kitchen slider screen door had apparently previously been bent and did not move without effort. It appeared that glass bottles must have been thrown off of the upper deck on the kitchen side into the woods by previous parties, so we had to avoid all of that broken glass area when we took our dog out. Maybe could put some crushed rubber around the deck side of the house for dogs instead of the gravel stone which is hard for them to walk on. Thank you!

NOT worth the price
This property was poorly supplied and in need of updates. It lacked the necessary supplies in the kitchen. There was only one coffee pot for 18 people and had only a few utensils. The kitchen table was wobbly and poorly finished. The water heater stopped working, the lights went out a few times, and the porch lights didn't work. We needed to find the circuit box a few times to keep things going and restart the water heater. Towels were not provided. The two leather sofas in the family room had quite a few patches because of holes, and there was no coffee table. All three pullout beds were old and unbearably uncomfortable. Linens and pillows for the pullout sofas are also not provided. There was no firewood for the fire pit. We were disappointed the property lacked any other amenities that most properties in this price range would have - fireplace, hot tub, game table, pool table, etc. Overall, we were all extremely disappointed in this property and, considering the price, would not recommend it to other families. Seriously not worth it!

Beautiful chalet in the woods
Home is as described in the listing. Well-maintained, good air condition and appliances, placed in the middle of the forest. Close to marina and accommodates a crowd. Large picturesque porch- love the ramp. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire circle. Fairly small outdoor space around the house that is not trees and brush, but great to watch the birds and wildlife. Thanks for letting us stay there.

Family celebration of Dad's 75th Birthday
10 humans and 3 dogs all gathered together to celebrate our Dad's 75th birthday. The house was wonderful. Lots of space to sit together for group activities, as well as separate areas (the kids could play downstairs while the adults relaxed upstairs). Plenty of couches, chairs and bathrooms for everyone. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, the nearby hiking trails, and the ample indoor space for cooking/board games/movie nights. There were a few small issues with the house (a loose door handle, an odd smell coming from one of the bathrooms). But nothing that couldn't be fixed, and the owner was very responsive. We would definitely recommend.

Perfect family get away….
We stayed at the Chocokate Moose Chalet for my moms birthday. It was the perfect meeting place for my and my brothers family to celebrate and spend time together and relax. The house was welcoming, beautiful and perfect for the 9 of us. We had more than enough room….. there were rooms we didn’t even use. The host was great with accommodating us on short notice after another place canceled on us last minute due to over booking and he was very communicative as well. Thank you for a wonderful weekend..
