"I was going to rate this place a 3 overall until the manager said he is going to keep my deposit over some spots on towels, grass on the tiles, crumbs on the counter, and a spill in the fridge that one paper towel would have fixed. He said THAT and the washing of ALL the bedsheets forced him to hire a 2nd cleaning person. He also tried to accuse me of having unaccounted for guests because "all of the beds had been slept on" (there were 6 of us and 6 beds, only 4 beds were actually used - but...

"We stopped for groceries before we got to Leakey. The barndo is cute, just be careful on the drive out because the road is gravel and without 4 wheel drive it's a bit tricky. We almost couldn't get out in the minivan. Otherwise cute little area and beautiful views. "

"The house was clean with plenty of towels and linens. The kids enjoyed the games outside. Our questions were answered right away. We loved having the grocery just down the road and convenient."

"The place was great, but a little bit noisy from traffic on the highway nearby. The host was responsive to our requests. The only big issue was the very skinny spiral stairs leading to the bedrooms. Fine for those under age 30, but maybe not so easy for us. We're all old and over 65. We're all in very good shape, so it didn't make much difference, but it might for some."
