"We loved staying here! Kitchen had everything, inc. a cafetière, salt & pepper grinders, dedicated drawer of superbly sharp knives(!) & a resident kitchen spider who earnt her keep by catching a mosquito! The bed is huge - could easily fit 3 people! (Duvet cover is a bit noisy/rustles like taffeta when it moves, so light sleepers with partners prone to nocturnal limb flailing might be kept awake by this. The antique wardrobe was ace - I enjoyed the labelled shelves based on sartorial stylings...

"The Old Brewery is im the beautiful medieval market town of Richmond. There are numerous walks in the area, several delightful pubs amd restaurants, and it is a great base for exploring North Yorkshire. The property itself, though, needs some work. The kitchen and dining room are beautiful. The living rooms are extremely comfortable (with the exception of one chair). The bedrooms and bathrooms each have their quirks and drawbacks. "Fabulous well equipped house and grounds in lovely rural equestrian setting."

"You enter the property though an out-house at the end of a path. There’s no working outside light so, if you arrive late or like to go out on an evening take a torch. When we arrived, the bins were overflowing, and bags of rubbish had been piled up along the path. The outside area doesn’t get cleaned or maintained so, if you like al fresco dining you need a stiff brush and bucket of soapy water to clean away all the rotting fruit, leaves and debris. "The property was much smaller than expected and we were disappointed by the quality of furnishings and equipment some of which were old (floor coverings and kitchen utensils) and unacceptable in our view. We felt the photographs had been staged and larger groups would have struggled to have had a comfortable experience. The shower was difficult to use and was inaccessible for those who might have any physical issues and particularly so if pregnant or with balance problems. "

"We had a wonderful stay at Swallow Barn. Only wish we had more time to spend there. The house was exactly as pictured and described. Plenty of room for our party of 6. Grounds are lovely and the view spectacular! Kitchen was very well stocked with everything we could possibly need. We loved our Yorkshire stay."
