Think Twice Before Booking with this Owner
I selected the ‘Resort & Spa Living in the ❤ of the City’ property largely because of the representation of the accommodations and great reviews listed on VRBO. I booked the property in July and all but one review was a 10/10, the outlier was an 8/10. I became very concerned about the review of the property dated 9/2/2024. I understand that one bad review may not be a good representation of the property, so I submitted my concerns to the property owner through the VRBO website and requested that he provide a response on the condition of the property. If the property was in good condition and was secure, clean, and functioning as represented on the VRBO website, I would think that the owner would want to respond back and defend the property.
I contacted VRBO several times to assist me contact the owner, but ultimately, they lied and said they spoke to him, and he said he cancelled my reservation and agreed to a full refund. I verified that with a 2nd VRBO rep. before booking another house. I later learned the VRBO representatives were lying.
Needless to say, due to the unresponsiveness of the owner and the abhorrent customer service from VRBO, I paid for two houses that weekend. Wrap your mind around that cost. I can’t tell you whether or not this property is as it was represented by the guest who wrote the review on 9/2, or as depicted on VRBO. The review required a rating for each item. What I can tell you is that the owner was not responsive to me once he had my money.
