"The staff was excellent. The bar was top notch. Great breakfast. The beds are very comfortable. Nice place walk your dog. I would not recommend the Mexican restaurant. Just get wings or ribs from their menu. "

"The hotel is located in the conference center / area area. It’s a 35 minute walk from the main train station. However, there are trams and bus routes outside which can take you there also. My room was available early and it was great to be able to check-in when I arrived. The room was lovely and extremely comfortable. I appreciated having coffee and tea making facilities as I stayed for two nights. There was also a few complementary items in the mini-bar (water, beer, juice, pepsi and peanuts). Breakfast was included in my rate and they had a great selection of items. It is served in a bright airy room on the 3rd floor. I appreciated being able to take some items with me on my last day as I left at 7.15am. I had my own reusable coffee container but a staff member gave me a small cardboard container to use. I also had a drink one evening at the bar and the lady serving (I don’t remember her name) was extremely welcoming. As I was alone I appreciated her friendliness. The location of this hotel would be ideal if you were attending a concert or event at the arena. It’s also a good location, if you like to walk as I do or of you want to avail of the public transport. "

"Everything was great. The staff was friendly and informative.The rooms were clean. Only thing wrong was the construction that was taking place next to the hotel. The hotel was centrally located to what I wanted see and explore. Will stay again."

"Comfortable bed, very good complete breakfast and no expensive.at $10 euros p/p . The hotel location is in the city. (The only thing happened during our stay the street was closed for working, and had complications with the car to get there but that is temporary issue and only if you have to get with car) . Other than that hotel is.very nice and good updated. "

"Traveling from Canada, we found Basel to be quite expensive. That said, Royal Hotel provided really good value for money. It was professionally run, the self check-in was easy, and being across the street from transit was very convenient. The unit was small, but very clean and as advertised. There were 5 of us (two adults and three teen children) and had a good sleep. It was nice to have a (small) work area too. We'd stay again! "
