"Lovely hotel showing it age but in an elegant way. Food good breakfast was enjoyable and portions good. The location is stunning views to die for. Fantastic staff nothing to much not that we asked for much. The only drawback was the “caravan module toilet / shower room “ now I’m an above average sized person but if I’d been twiggey I would have struggled. I suppose you get what you pay for, but if I had known before I went I would have upgraded. A real letdown and really all I can remember about...

"Lovely old Victorian property in a fantastic location. Admittedly condition a little tired but that’s part of its charm. We had a very warm welcome and pleasantly surprised when we had our room upgraded to a sea view free of charge. The room and bed were very clean and comfy and it had a nice view towards lynmouth. Very convenient location for the shops, eateries and walks. Not much in the way of car parking, but found it very easy to park in a pay and display nearby, then get a 4 day voucher...

"The hotel was in desperate need of refurbishment. Damp areas on corridor wallpaper and scratched and dirty skirting boards. Clothing hook hanging off shower room door and shower surround grubby. My son's room has no mattress protector. No one manned the lounge bar, you had to go to reception and ask the receptionist to come and serve drinks and wait until they had finished check in no snacks available . Tea and coffee in room but no courtesy biscuit. We were only there for 2 nights to view...

"Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely indoor and outdoor pool. Great thermal suite with view over the beach and lovely relaxation terrace. Food was good and there was a games room too which wasn’t well advertised. "

"the property has a wealth of history on display ,it has plenty of querks which only add to its charm the guests have the run of the dinning ,cooking facilties and are not lorded over in rigsby fashon as in some establishments. The host is genuine and soical and is a pleasure to spend time with as are the staff ,on the whole a very pleasant and intresting stay .woulud i stay again ?without hesitation "
