"The hotel is older than others and the rooms are not renovated - but the staff were really nice and showed me a few rooms until I was ok - I did pay a small upgrade- but the area is not great - I had an ok stay for 2 nights but would not go back. "

"Have to use your room card to call lift on ground floor-good for security but a bit of a faff. Bedroom and bathroom were clean but note on thermostat said filter needed changing and it looked black. I didn't need towels or bed changing but think rooms could be checked to see if milk and teabags etc need topping up. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of cereals, fruit, cheese, ham. Bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and hash browns were hot and replenished quickly unlike alot of places"

"A wee couple of days in York. Nice and clean hotel.Staff friendly. Very close to the shambles, cathedral, shops pubs etc. about £ 8;00 taxi ride from main train station. Lovely staff. Could do with some place to hang coats . Separately esp in this wet weather. But otherwise …hunky dory."

"Great hotel with good views and large rooms, laptop safe, iron and ironing board and hairdryer. Housekeeping was hit and miss, some days ok others dirty cups and spoons left in rooms, drain smell from sink, shower drain filling up, dirty bath mat not changed, surfaces not wiped down and room not hoovered all week."

"We stayed at The Queens as we needed somewhere central Leeds for a family party in Leeds. The hotel was great, lovely art deco building & interiors. Small but totally adequate double rooms that were warm & quiet. Didn’t have breakfast as was room only but I’m sure it would have been fine. "

"We stayed for 2 nights and found it a great place to stay. The staff were friendly, the room spacious and the hotel well maintained and clean. The standard room included a small table and settee, plus a mini fridge and safe. Fantastic! We particularly liked the position, just 10 mins walk from the Piccadilly area and actually on Gt Ancoats St, so bare minutes from the lively area of Ancoats. Would very happily stay again. "
