What a perfect spot
We (4 couples) arrived at the home and were immediately greeted by a property manager ( Charles) who gave us the grand tour and spent at least an hour sharing information about the house, the island, other islands and attractions. The house was perfect! What a wonderful vacation spot!!!

The perfect vacation stay!
Our stay at Family Tides could not have been better! The house was spotless when we arrived and accommodated us all perfectly during our stay. It was in the best location on the water with easy access to everything surrounding. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great vacation place!

Great stay at Family Tides
Stayed for a week with 2 families and had an amazing time. House is spacious, clean, and well appointed. Dock was perfect for 40' center console with 30 amp service and water available on dock. Will definitely stay here again!

Great property in Hope Town for larger family!
Had a great stay in Hope Town with our family of seven! Very nice bedrooms each one with a king size bed and private bath, well equipped common areas, and a beautiful dock for larger boats! Very convenient location as long as you have a boat to get back and forth to town. We enjoyed our stay!

Welcome 2024
Family Tides was a great place to stay for our 6 night 8 person vacation. The views of the Harbor and Lighthouse were unmatched. Truly enjoyed being on a peninsula. John, the host, provided excellent recommendations for food, restaurants, taxi services and “must do’s” during our stay. Would definitely stay at Family Tides again.

Great Stay in Elbow Cay
The house was great for our group (4 couples) with a nice front porch and view of the harbor. Also, the house was very clean. The owner was extremely quick with answering any questions we had. I would note that the house is only accessible by boat which was not an issue as we also rented a boat. Also, there are shuttles that will pick you up for meals at the local restaurants.

Perfect vacation at Family Tides
Family Tides was so much more than expected. Beautiful private home, private dock and the location was so convenient to everything and all the places we ventured too. The owner and caretaker went above and beyond to assure everything was perfect as well as provided great local knowledge and assistance. We will be back as soon as possible!! Remarkable home!!

Hopetown 2023
A five week trip fishing, sunning, sightseeing, beaching, and just chilling. A great facility in an interesting historic town. Both John and Charlie aim to please. We plan on returning for an extended stay again next year Elbow Cay is back again better than ever.

Amazing in every way!
This was our second trip to Family Tides and we loved every minute of both trips. The house is perfect for our 2 families who travelled by boat. The owner and property manager could not have been more helpful or accommodating and the house is an absolute gem! We miss it already and will definitely return to Family Tides!!!

Three Couples Stay at Family Tides
We agree with the recent review left by another group of 3 couples who described the house and the location very well. We cannot add much more to it. We would definitely recommend Family Tides to friends who have or will be renting a boat.

Awesome elbow cay trip!!
The house was absolutely perfect for group of us fishing and hanging out for music festival. The host Charlie could not have been nicer and so accommodating. The house was very well equipped, super clean, comfortable and very nice. The beds and linens were very comfortable and all brand new. We definitely will stay again and highly recommend for a group or family trip to the Abacos!!

This house was more than we could’ve expected! 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms… so everyone had space and privacy. House was clean with new appliances. Charlie was so helpful with anything we needed.

First Time in Hope Town Awesome Experience
Family Tides was the perfect home for my families long planned get away. Everything about Family Tides was as advertised. Perfectly for my family of 8 including 2 infants. The hope town marina was happy to pick us up when other family members were out on the boat. Golf carts parted at the dock were perfect for touring the island and evening dinner out. Bonefish charters for two days were amazing, many outer island and beaches/sandbars were easily accessible. Just an overall wonderful and relaxing week. We will be back to Family Tides.

Great house
Family Tides was great! Let me start with John the owner and Charlie the caretaker. These guys are great communicators and truly want you to have a great experience. We had a small issue one morning with the coffee maker and that afternoon a brand new coffee maker was delivered to our dock. As for the house you will not find a better view of the harbor, a better dock for mooring your boat or a better bed in Hopetown. Did I mention how nice and comfortable the beds are? This place checks all the boxes for a great trip to the Abacos.

Family Tides Vacation
Family Tides is an awesome home and perfect for 3-4 couples! It would also be great for a large family of 8. The view is absolutely beautiful, overlooking the lighthouse and the Hopetown marina. The dock is awesome and easily would be great for 2 boats. The dock is lighted at night and we saw lots of fish in the crystal clear water! The home is furnished with very comfortable living room couches and chairs and awesome king beds. In addition, the screened porch is large with comfortable furniture. The kitchen has new appliances, an ice maker, and is stored very well. Plenty of towels and nice beach towels were provided, along with a new washer and dryer! Family Tides is one of the nicest homes we have ever rented during our Abaco visits! We will return as John was quick to respond to any questions we had! Five +++ stars for this home!

Perfect spring break in Hopetown!
My family and my business partners family had the most wonderful time at "Family Tides". The women arrived on a flight and took the ferry straight to the house where they were greeted by the caretaker and welcomed in. The rest of us arrived by boat shortly after, and felt right at home. The home is inviting, and well equipped for a group like ours. The dock is easily accessible, with plenty of deep water in the protected harbor. The home is in the middle of everything, with a stunning view of the light house and harbor, but provides peace, quiet, privacy (as its not accessible by golf cart or foot traffic). As a large group of 8, we all had king size beds to sleep in, and each bedroom had a full bathroom as well, this was a very nice bonus! The house was new, modern, and extremely clean! Everything you want when you are on vacation, I highly recommend this property, and we will be back!!!

Friends trip to Abaco
First time staying in a VRBO. Family Tides is a perfect place to stay for 3 couples. We were greeted by Desi and he helped off load boat. House is just like pictures (even better in person). Two large bedrooms downstairs, 2 bedrooms upstairs, all with very comfortable king size beds and own baths. Modern kitchen appliances, separate bar area, very comfortable seating in living room and large dining table. You have spectacular views of harbor inside and outside on the 3 sided screen porch. I read all the reviews prior to trip. Not having road access is not an issue. You are very restricted on island where golf carts can go. There are numerous public piers and it takes a few minutes to tie right up. Any questions, owner or Charles promptly respond. Our MS Gulf Coast crew will definitely stay at Family Tides again and refer our friends that travel that way in the future. Thank you John for your hospitality!!

Amazing stay - 3 couples
Just finished a great stay at Family Tides with my wife and 2 other couples. Hope Town is a beautiful Marina town and very comfortable place to spend the week. If you’re not comfortable driving your own boat, definitely get set up with a guide to take you out on the water a few of the days during your stay. That’s what makes The Abacos so remarkable. For those that are, Island Marine is the go to place to rent a nice center console boat to get you around. We rented their 23ft Albury and had more than enough room for all 6 of us. They are always so accommodating and very reasonably priced. As other reviews stated, it’s a golf cart community, so definitely rent one from one of the local shops in Hope Town. We were able to get a 6-person cart. Definitely hit up On Da Beach, Firefly for a sunset cocktail, and our best meal was lunch at The Abaco Inn. Now onto the house. The owner was super responsive and continually checked in with us throughout the stay. It is exactly how it is pictured and we loved being somewhat isolated on our own side of the Marina. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. We could have easily fit another couple in there with us as well. Also… if you strike out on hunting for lobster (like we did) ask someone local to give you Gypsy Seafoods number. Just a local guy with fresh catches for the day. We picked up lobster tails and grouper to cook at the house. Amazing stay!

Great private house
This house was fabulous! The location is beautiful, right across from Hopetown Inn, with a view from the screened porch of the lighthouse and all of the moored sailboats. The dock is great, and has plenty of deep water for boat access. You must have your own boat to come and go from this property, which isn’t really a problem because most guests to the Abacos rent boats to travel around, but it’s important to note. It made our stay super fun and felt like we had our own secluded island. Our guests who arrived after the first day took the Albury ferry across, and the ferry dropped them off right at the family tides dock – it was perfect! The kitchen has a VHF radio in it, so one night we called on channel 16 across to the Hopetown Inn restaurant and asked for their water taxi to come across and pick us up to go there for dinner. They came right over and picked all eight of us up and we had a wonderful dinner, and then they brought us back to the dock. If you want to go into Hopetown to Captain Jack’s, or the shops and small grocery store, there is a public dock to park your boat and walk easily, or, of course, a dock right at Captain Jack’s. For any other logistics or questions, John, or Charlie, the caretaker, are quick to help. The four king size beds are extremely comfortable, and the four couples we had there each had plenty of room and their own bathroom. Thank you John for the wonderful stay!

Amazing Place
We enjoyed our stay at FAMILY TIDES in Hope Town. It's a magical place, literally a private compound in the middle of the Harbour. Boats and yachts from far and wide glide by silently and are softly lit up at night for a breathtaking view at all hours. All four bedrooms have their own private bathrooms. The Kitchen was well equipped. The entire place was clean as a whistle and as well maintained as a luxury resort. The wraparound porch was screened in and allowed us to sit out anytime we wished, with a sweeping view of the harbor, the yachts and the town. The house has full central air conditioning, but we turned it off and enjoyed the gentle breezes from the Harbour and the overhead fans located throughout the house. The docking facility must be the best in the area as it could accommodate yachts up to 50 feet. We rented a 26 foot center console outboard which we kept at the dock with more water depth than we needed. There are harbor launches which gladly picked us up at our doorstep and would drop us at any number of restaurants and Inns. The property is equipped with a large generator which comes on automatically when local power goes off which happened seamlessly a couple times during our stay. Internet service was easily accessed with good connection at the house and was available most of the time from the local provider. Overall it was a fabulous vacation which we'd like to do again.
