The staff were welcoming, cheerful and helpful. They were instantly available when needed and absent when not.The ambience is delightful having an old world, comfortable and unlike the cold, and clinical furnishing and decoration of many hotels is homely. The room was small but entirely adequate. Pleasant and peaceful gardens in which to roam.

Every Cloud has a Silver Lining!
We had a one night stay and were shown up to our attic room on arrival. Then the heavens opened and it poured! Unfortunately, the ceiling sprang two leaks, one by the television plug and one just by the door. It was very heavy rain indeed - so much so, that the local supermarket car park was flooded and the place that we booked for dinner in Hook became an island and closed for the night just as we turned up! So, it was exceptional rain, with hailstones, thunder and lightning. Our hosts upgraded us to the king's suite (top right, first floor on the front view), which was much more luxurious and even had a four-poster bed. Breakfast was a good, full English. In the large room where we ate, there was an art exhibition, with various artists represented. Very interesting and the whole experience was enjoyable. We hope that the owners get the roof fixed soon but it probably won't be tested like that for a long time to come. Recommended.

Lovely place to stay
We were met by Sue on arrival, who was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious with an amazing view of the garden. Breakfast was really good with plenty to choose from. Loved our stay and plan to return later in the year

Whilst the property and rooms are showing their age a little bit, it adds to the charm of the stay. The staff are amazing, so friendly and as for the pizza, my goodness, freshly cooked, amazing a must if you stay.

This hotel is a gem, great gamily run business. A short distance to town and Sainsbury’s is literally on the doorstep but far enough away to not hear a single piece of traffic..

Lovely little hotel
What a lovely little hotel just outside of Hook. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The pizzas were great too. Will definitely return if in the area again.

I stayed for 2 nights at the hotel with my two dogs. I was offered a room outside of the main building which was very convenient for me, with having my dogs. The room overall was clean, comfortable and nicely presented. Having a walk on the doorstep for the dogs was very convenient. My only negative observations was that the toilet seat was loose and there was a damp Patch where paint was peeling in one of the window recesses. However overall I would be more than happy to return to the hotel. The staff I encountered were lovely and very friendly and welcoming.
