🌺I’m a kama’aina and have lived in Hawaii since I was 5 years old. I know the best places to go that aren’t full of tourists.

GREAT LOCATION

INTERIOR
Very spacious 3000 sf. Gorgeous wood floors throughout. Designer interiors and luxury furnishings, this 3BR/2.5BA home in Honolulu wows at every turn. Split time between two large living spaces, a gorgeous private pool and patio, and a chef’s kitchen loaded with appliances.

Drive 3 minutes to amazing beaches for swimming, paddleboarding, and surfing. Or head 10 minutes to the big city sights of Waikiki, and walk 5 minutes to the nearest grocery store and restaurants.

LIVING AREAS
A beautifully appointed main living room wows on arrival. Luxurious furnishings sit beneath 10’-14' ceilings, and large windows flood the space with light. Curl up on a gorgeous couch, two chic armchairs, or a window-side bench. In the evenings, enjoy movies on the flat-screen TV. Equally stylishly, a second living area features two plush couches and another flat-screen TV.

GOURMET KITCHEN
The gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream. Stainless steel appliances include a double oven, a six-burner gas stove, and a side-by-side refrigerator. Chat over pre-dinner drinks at a kitchen bar with two cushioned stools. The nearby dining table seats another eight.

BEDROOMS & BATHS
This home sleeps up to eight in three elegant bedrooms and a futon, each with their own flat-screen TV. Luxury awaits in the master suite. This huge room boasts a California king bed, a full-size futon, and a personal elliptical machine — perfect for maintaining your fitness regime! An opulent en-suite master bathroom boasts a double vanity, a walk-in shower, and a separate soaking tub. Large luxury bathroom with marble and travertine. Soaking tube, separate shower and two sinks in each full bathroom.

The second bedroom has with a grand four-poster queen bed and a separate twin bed.

The third bedroom has a comfy queen bed, and futon. The second bathroom offers a double vanity and a tub/shower combination, and the house also has a half bath beside the entryway.

OUTDOOR AREAS
Enjoy a glittering private pool and hot tub. There’s plenty of outdoor seating on the surrounding patio, with covered areas to enjoy drinks and a four-person table for relaxing alfresco dining in a very quite setting. This lavish outdoor space also has a gas grill and a mini fridge to chill your favorite drinks.

A lava rock wall surrounds the home, giving you a feeling of tucked-away seclusion. But local attractions are right on your doorstep.

LOCATION
Honolulu's sugar-white beaches are just a short drive away. Relax on the quiet shores of Wailupe Beach Park (5 minute drive away). Or grab surfboards and chase the waves at Kapiolani (10 minutes) or Ala Moana Beach Park (15 minutes) Enjoy the buzzing city delights of Waikiki and downtown Honolulu (both around a 10- to 15-minute drive).

SHOPPING The home is also an easy 5-minute stroll to shops, restaurants, and the nearest grocery store. Famous Kahala Beach 5-7 minutes drive. Shopping center is 4 blocks away. Foodland Farms grocery store, Starbucks, La Tour Restaurant, Pieology Pizza, Honolulu Fitness Center, Yoga studio, hair and nail salon and Longs Drugstore. 5 minutes to Kahala Mall.
10-15 minutes from Waikiki and Ala Moana Shopping Center for world class shopping. Beautiful hike in the back of the valley and around Aina Haina.

Perfect vacation home
Three families, including my own stayed at this beautiful home. It was so much more relaxing, got to spend more quality family time in because it was just like being at one of our homes instead of 3 separate hotel rooms. My son especially loved the pool! Landscaping is done beautifully within the private backyard. Laura was very prompt to reply to any of my questions. We look forward to booking here again

The house is in a perfect location, very clean, and the host and property manager were outstanding! We had to work around flight cancellations and they were extremely accommodating and helpful through our whole process. Would absolutely recommend this place!

Incredible 2 weeks in Hawaii!
This by far was one of my favorite VRBO’s that I have ever stayed at. It was great for our family. Had lots of space. A great pool for our kids and our family. We are so lucky to stay here we highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a great location on Oahu.

FAMILY VACATIONING AT ITS BEST
This property worked so well for our grandkids. Pool was incredibly convenient and easily viewable from many rooms in the house. We also enjoyed the kitchen with high-end appliances and could avoid the long waits and crowds for restaurants in Honolulu.

Fabulous Vacation
The house is gorgeous. We had a wonderful vacation. We were six adults staying for 8 days. We enjoyed the great kitchen and dining areas. The pool and jacuzzi were excellent. Lots of space so everyone could enjoy themselves without crowding one another. Lori was able to let us arrive early. She was extremely responsive to any questions. Much Aloha and mahalo.

great place for families
What a great property! The layout is perfect for a family. Great layout with kitchen and pool, it feels like a high-end vacation property, even though it isn't in a touristy part of Oahu. The proximity to shops is simply great! Folks can walk to coffee and groceries and restaurants. After a day of exploring, we loved coming back to the "villa" my family called it! We have already forwarded it to other friends. Great place!

Gorgeous Hawaiian Getaway
This house was beautiful, comfortably furnished, had a great kitchen with everything you needed to cook and eat in, and the yard with private pool and hot tub was amazing and very clean. Communication with the host was very easy and always quick to reply. The location is walking distance to a grocery store and strip mall with restaurants, and a short drive to downtown Honolulu in one direction as well as close to lots of beautiful beaches and scenic points. Thank you to our host for a wonderful spot to have a relaxing Hawaiian vacation!

Dream holiday
From the moment we walked into the house, we knew we had found a special place. This house took our trip to the next level. So incredibly beautiful and the pool and hot tub were the best! The perfect location to travel from all around the island. The communication from Laura was incredible and we felt so spoiled. If we ever come back to Oahu we will stay here again for sure. Spacious oasis
We enjoyed our time here very much! We traveled with my parents, kids (7, 9) and my brother/his girlfriend. The home is spacious, pool and outdoor courtyard are relaxing and wonderful. A/C is excellent in bedrooms and the beds were so comfortable. Master bedroom is huge! It can get a bit warm in main living spaces but opening the doors allow the tradewinds to cool things down - that along with fans were pretty effective. The property manager was very responsive and eager to ensure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. Very close to shopping, quiet neighborhood and relatively easy access to a lot of attractions. We would happily return.

Such a beautiful vibe
My family and friends have gotten together to celebrate a few milestone birthdays. We chose this house because of the beautiful photos and the great location. (The place is actually more beautiful in person than the photos and that’s normally the opposite in my experience). We had quite the range of ages from 4 years to 60 years old. This place had something for everyone. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped, and the outside grill was great for some fresh Mahi! Some of us were very adventurous and went out most days but others chose to relax at the home and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the waterfall and beautiful pool. There are great hiking trails right in the valley and also in the valleys surrounding the home. The neighborhood is really nice for a morning walk as well as being close to some surf spots we enjoyed. The host Cynthia was very quick to answer questions to be sure this was the right choice for our group. And the manager Laura was as good or better than any concierge at past hotels. She reached out to us before our trip and offered to give us any advice before and during our stay. And she even came by and brought us some fresh mangos from a big “haul” she had gotten! She helped us to pick the best luau and to find more hiking trails on the yelp app! Who knew you could find that on yelp! The house also had games and cards for those nights we just wanted to chill. We just can’t say enough about the home and the hospitality!

71 years in the making
My boyfriend and I brought my parents to Hawaii (Oahu) for the first time at 71. The trip was amazing! PROS: pool and hot tub were very convenient and relaxing. Location was amazing. Laura, the grounds keeper, was very communicative and kept us informed. Adequate kitchen ware to allow cooking most meals in the home. Furnished nicely. CONS: the home was tidy but some areas not clean i.e. the master bathroom counters, half an inch of dust on all ceiling fans. No air conditioning in the living areas of the house, only the bedrooms. Probably would have picked a different spot due to my parents and their age if I had known no air conditioning in the main part of the house. Doors and windows needed maintenance. A very nice home but definitely needed some updating as far as general maintenance i.e. the kitchen sink had an old, moldy odor coming from the sink and underneath in the cabinet in the kitchen. Overall, the house was beautiful and helped make our Hawaiian adventure more memorable.

Great Aina Haina home!
My family and I, consisting of my Honolulu-born and raised wife, our daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons (ages 10 and 14), spent two weeks this July at this great Aina Haina home. We have made many trips to Oahu over the years and have rented homes, the last three times in the Kahala area, but we all felt that this was the best house and location we have experienced. The home was beautifully decorated with everything one would want in a luxury rental –a wonderful pool, air conditioning, a gourmet kitchen, a bunch of spaces perfect for entertaining friends and guests, elegant furnishings, total privacy, a magical outdoor setting, a super barbeque, parking for two cars and additional street-side parking for guests. It’s in a quiet neighborhood in an outstanding location, near and convenient to everything! LauraMae, the manager of the property while the owner was away, was amazingly friendly, considerate, thoughtful and efficient! We had a few minor problems that were addressed in a quick, effective manner, and she kept in touch with us throughout our stay, texting us whenever there was information we needed. The one word we all kept coming up with while we were at the house was “comfortable.” The house itself, the neighborhood, the manager the location were all first rate and we felt at home throughout our stay. This would certainly be the first house we would consider for our next trip.

Terrible Let Down
Preface:I have never had to leave a negative review on any rental I am not a complainer/not a very avid reviewer. So please do not discount my review. Positives 1) Great communication 2) Very nice pool/outdoor space 3) Well stocked kitchen Negatives: The photos for this rental does not reflect the condition of the property. NOT A LUXURY UNIT! It is very worn and dated and on a very busy street/Bus Route. I wish I could share my pics to show the differences. NOT WORTH THE PRICE - rent an alternate unit for the $. 1) Cleanliness: Superficially clean but hair in the bathroom drawers, hair in the playing cards, soap scum, roaches (yes I realize it is the tropics), lots of stains on furniture 2) Furnishings of very poor quality: Except the piano and some antiques/Indonesion pieces the furnishings are very old and worn. 2 couches/ottoman covered with cheap plaid quilts/sheets. Dining chairs covered with cheap covers in a coffee motif 3) Paper covering the windows in the family room? Other windows overlook same area so why? 4) HUGE list of do's and don'ts NOT shared prior to rental 5) Air conditioner in Living Room/Kitchen does not work. Only the Bedroom air conditioner and a mini split in the FR 6) Lock out apartment used by owners 21yo son intermittently - we had #3- 20-22 year old girls who would not have been comfortable with a strange man on the premises - this information should have been shared in the listing not 2 weeks prior to rental date Overall very disappointed!

Tropical Paradise
We absolutely loved our stay at this house. Very unique, Indonesian vibe with beautiful original artwork and lovely backyard pool and hot tub. Very excellent location: short drives to Costco, Waikiki, airport, Waimanola beach (stunningly beautiful and quiet), Byodo-In Temple, Leonard's (yummy warm donuts), shopping and restaurants. Also, if you like thrifting: the neighborhood churches have fairly regular rummage sales with some great deals. The house has everything you would need for a great day at the beach: beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler. Also all sorts of pool toys. The house is obviously well used and much loved. There are some minor mechanical issues and a few scrapes (like almost any home) but certainly nothing that would detract from your enjoyment of the property. The uniqueness of this property puts it head and shoulders above any cookie-cutter hotel or time share property. Shout out to the owner Cynthia who made the booking process straightforward and simple and also to the property manager Laura Mae who was always at the ready to promptly respond to any questions we had. We were a group of six, ranging in age from 13 - 77. Excellent property for anyone trying to avoid steps: only 3 steps to the front door, then everything else is on one level, one of the two showers is a step-in, and there is easy parking on the property's driveway, large enough for a mini van. If you are vacationing with a group and you need 3 bedrooms- this would be a great choice.

The property had everything we needed for our stay on O’ahu. It’s in a nice, quiet location with local shops - food court, supermarket & pharmacy - only a 5 minute walk away. The local property manager LauraMae was also very helpful and attentive when required but also respectful of our privacy. I would definitely recommend a stay at this property.

Great quiet getaway!
We loved the place, very clean and well maintained. The space was large and perfect for us, we went as a group of friends. Rooms were air-conditioned and the private pool was amazing! A short drive from busy Waikiki, the place delivers on its promise of a quiet getaway!

Comfortable & Well located
This was a perfect place for us to meet our Aussie daughter and her family, including a 2 1/2 and 1 year old, to acclimate to different time zones before heading off to the Big Island for a large family reunion. The area is well located on the outskirt of Honolulu. It is quiet and convenient to touring Oahu, with easy access to highways and the coast. The Foodland shopping center is a 5 minute walk, with several take out restaurants. Laura Mae, the property manager, couldn't have been more helpful or responsive.
