Wonderful downstairs ohana suite with beautiful lanai overlooking Diamond Head and east Honolulu. Gorgeous neighborhood setting. Very comfortable all around. Great value. Super location! Only heads up: stairs could be challenging for some

Great neighborhood spot
This cozy spot was perfect when moving my daughter into college. We didn't want to stay in Waikiki and this was perfect. Communication was easy with Amanda. The unit was clean and location was perfect.

Home away from home
Perfect place to stay with family, especially if you have littles. Unit was clean and just as described and communication with property manager was easy, quick, and reliable. Only downside is if the upper unit is also being occupied during your stay-the main bedroom, below the staircase can hear everything.

Perfect stay
The home was neat, cozy, comfortable, and provided everything we needed (mostly in the kitchen and TV-related). It was in a quiet neighborhood convenient to everything we wanted to see and do nearby. The property manager was attentive and thorough. We would definitely stay there again if we are back in town.

Great private duplex in Manoa
The duplex was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. It's an older home with character. We enjoyed our stay. Nice to be out of the noise and traffic of Waikiki.

Beautiful views and cute neighborhood
This little home was a lot bigger than I expected! Great space, good amenities, cute historic details and beautiful views from the large porch. Two full and sizeable bedrooms worked great for our family. Only downside was all the stairs inside that inspired the toddler to climb around. One of the beds is essentially lofted and has to be climbed into.

Would stay again
Only complaint was the initial musty smell (but we also realize this is an older Lower level home) but we soon realized that once we arrived and fired up the air conditioner the smell went away. Upper bedroom was super cold at night which we LOVED and with the fans the whole u no t stayed pretty cool! The Lanai was amazing and the view of Diamond Head was even more amazing. We had a couple of cockroach sightings but not any more than anywhere else we have ever stayed in our multiple trips to the island. I felt like we had everything we needed and the upstairs guests were so lovely and kind. 9/10 and would book this place if we return again. Close to University of Hawaii where our child goes.

Quiet neighborhood
This property is nice to get away from the city life. It was a bit too old for me. It’s a bottom unit that you have to take stairs down to. The bedrooms are a bit odd and small, very stuffy. They do have AC units and fans but I still felt like I was in a box. One of the bedrooms smelled of mildew. When we got in one of the AC units was leaking and the management and owner were really good on making sure it was fixed right away. The outdoor shower is great for those beach days.

Loved this location outside the hustle bustle of Waikiki with stunning views of Diamond Head & Honolulu city lights! Enjoyed the peaceful, safe, friendly historic beautiful Manoa valley neighborhood. Accommodations are very comfortable, homey and roomy with a great porch! Lots of beach supplies available too. Only downfall is you can hear the people walking around in the upper part of the house. Would definitely come back & stay here again!

Comfortable unit with great views away from tourists
My mother and I had a lovely week staying in this unit. It is spacious with a great deck where we were able to eat most meals, even in December! The neighborhood is residential and quiet but stores, restaurants, and the University of Hawaii are only 5-10 minutes away by car. There are stairs down to the entrance and a few stairs inside the unit as well, so this would not be ideal for anyone with mobility issues. There is another rental unit above this unit and occasionally you can hear movement or muffled voices from the upstairs guests. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for our stay and there is access to a washer/dryer as well. Management was very quick to respond to all my questions. I would certainly consider staying here again.

Beautiful quiet property
This place was so wonderful. From the bedrooms to the kitchen to the outdoor patio overlooking Honolulu it just made you feel relaxed. This property is quiet and away from the major hussle and bussle of the downtown area but close enough to go get groceries or other items. So glad we chose to stay here this added to how great our trip was.

Over all the unit is cozy and relatively quiet. It is well appointed and light and airy. During our stay there were significant sound issues with the unit above although they were mitigated by the management after we complained. There are some areas of the apartment that we felt were risky or unsafe. These included the entrance stairway (no handrail); step to lanai (not easily visible); and stair access to the back bedroom (no rail). Aside from these the bed in the second bedroom is accessed only via a very steep, narrow ledge that would be difficult to manage for most people. The ocean view is partially obstructed by palm trees now and the windows of the house are mostly painted shut. Overall we did have a good stay but felt it was important to let travelers know about the above issues.

Great location. Nice deck and nice view. Was hoping for a cleaner experience.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location was super convenient with great access to nearby grocery stores and coffee shops. The view from the deck was very nice, and we enjoyed eating meals there in the mornings and evening. In terms of cleanliness, the carpets were a bit stained and we had a minor bug problem midway through our stay, but Amanda was quick to call an exterminator and address the issue. I’d definitely recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a place outside of the Hawaii downtown area.

Quiet, relaxing vacation
The place looks just like the photos, excellent space to hang out and relax. It's in a very quiet neighborhood, and just a short drive to lots of great food options. A beautiful porch with comfy couches for afternoon naps. The management company was responsive and helpful during our stay, would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Nice clean unit
We were in the lower (“B”) unit, which looked to be a basement apartment. It was clean with a good sized lanai. As a lower level unit, much of what could have been a great fives of Diamond Head was blocked by trees. A possible issue might be all of the stairs. You walk down 10-12 stairs to reach the entrance and in the unit you go up three stairs to reach the main bedroom, walk down one stairs to access the living/dining room and climb up two concrete ledges to access the bed in the second bedroom. This could be an issue if you have mobility issues or have young children. The kitchen is clearly an add on and while functional does not have a dishwasher. Unlike other VRBO units we stayed in, there was no soap or welcome amenity basket (starter coffee, etc.) so be prepared to go grocery shopping as soon as you arrive. Parking can be tight as the street is very narrow. If you rent a car, I would stick with a sedan or smaller SUV. Vans or larger SUVs probably won’t fit. The management company is first rate and Amanda was great. Manoa is a nice area to stay, with many delicious restaurants in the area and close proximity to most attractions. If I could rent the upper unit, I would definitely stay at this residence again and would consider staying at properties managed by Amanda and he office.

Lovely quiet location but needs a few upgrades
Beautiful view from the lanai in this quiet residential neighborhood. The carpet is old and stained and could use an upgrade. Bigger issue though is needed safety upgrades: need a grab bar or steps for lofted bed, railing for awkward steep steps from master bedroom, and improved motion triggered lights for exterior staircase. These issues present a challenge for young and old alike. But loved the quiet and the view.

Manoa Valley 2 bedroom
Very nicely sized 2 bedroom rental in basement of house in a very quiet and safe area. The place is mixed of nice or well-intentioned features and bizarre or unappealing characteristics. The covered back porch is the best part of the place with lots of comfortable seating. Beds were very comfortable and the bathroom had a nice shower. There were plenty of beach towels, a mat, beach toys, games, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The stained glass windows were pretty. On the contrary, the carpeting was stained throughout the unit, had a somewhat moist feel, and though I was assured by the property manager it was clean, it looked and felt less than. Very light-colored carpeting in a basement rental unit probably isn’t the best choice. We all agreed we’d have preferred either wood or tiled flooring. The unbelievably high climb to one of the beds is a little weird. A panel on the entrance door was held in place with a table knife, and the musty smell of the bedrooms was less than cozy. The bathroom while nice, was not ventilated enough by the small window and mold is beginning to show (and smell) on the ceiling. A ventilation fan would be a good investment. Overall, the place fulfilled our needs for the extended weekend and provided a respite from busy Waikiki while being reasonably located to everywhere we wanted to go.
