This private and cozy guest log cabin awaits you with awesome views of Kachemak Bay and pristine glaciers, abundant wildlife and a ribbon of hiking and cross-country skiing trails through the peaceful Kilcher Family Homestead. It is a great place to get away from it all after a long day of fishing, to curl up with a great book, complete an art project or just relish the quiet serenity (in this case in early mornings and late afternoon/evening).

Glacier View Getaway is fully equipped with everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable including a full-size kitchen, kitchenware and linens. There are two comfortable bedrooms, Jacuzzi bath, dishwasher, propane stove, washer and dryer, deck furniture and propane grill.

We arrive to postcard views and the most beautiful scenery God has created. Cozy, comfortable and amazing cabin and Tom was a super host to help with anything. This cabin made our first trip to Alaska simply amazing.

Magical Stay!
We enjoyed Glacier View and the Kilcher homestead immensely! The property is just magical from the walk down to the beach to picnic or the evening campfires with amazing views. Catkins cabin has everything needed and she is a gracious and entertaining host. This was our family's favorite part of our Alaska trip and are already planning a return stay. Don't hesitate to see Alaska's splendor and the amazing Kilcher Homestead!

AMAZING! The cabin was perfect! The view outstanding! The owners were fabulous! We were lucky and had a moose with her twins bed down by the cabin all day! It was very exciting. The entire stay was so pleasurable and we were so sad to have to leave. Hands down we would stay at that cabin or rent another cabin from these owners any day.

The view was spectacular! House had all amenities as well as some spices, and helpful travel necessities. Reasonable drive to restaurants and activities. We stayed two nights. A third to relax and enjoy the property would have been wise.

One of our favorite places on the earth!
We absolutely love staying at Glacier View. We stayed here 5 years ago, and always planned to return. It will always be on our list of places to stay when we come to Alaska again. The cabin is adorable, well stocked, comfortable and the view is breathtaking! We love walking about the homestead and walking to the beach. Catkin is a great host and has become a friend as well. We will be back for sure!

Peaceful wilderness retreat!
Our family of 5 enjoyed Glacier View cabin immensely. The cabin was as described and better yet. Thoughtfully appointed and clean, we enjoyed our 3-night getaway on the Kilcher Homestead property. We all loved watching the mama moose with her two calves feed in the field in the early morning and late evening. It’s was a perfect opportunity to slow down in the midst of our 2 week family road trip. We hope to return again someday.

We loved Glacier View! It had more than we needed. So nice to come back from fishing and hiking to such an amazing house. The views were nonstop and we saw moose every evening and one night a bear walked casually through the yard eating. Catkin was great to talk with and helpful! Would love to spend an entire week there! It’s perfect!!

Just a beautiful property. Amazing views! We saw whales in the bay, eagles, and moose right out our door. Immaculate inside. Loved the rustc log cabin feel. Futon couch could be replaced with a regular sofa. Mattress in Master could be replaced. But this would not stop me from staying here again.Loved every minute!

Beautiful vistas in a secluded and gorgeous location
This is a very special place to stay. Cabin was well provisioned and very comfortable. The views of Katchemak Bay are breathtaking. It is located on a large historic and intact homestead which is also still a family-run farm. We saw moose, a bear, and sandhill cranes on property. Also, there is a mile or so hike down through the property to a very lovely beach without another soul in sight. Catkin is a very welcoming host. She makes sure her guests are comfortable and have the information they want about area. Highly recommend if you want to stay near Homer but don’t want to be in town! It is an authentic Alaskan experience!

We really enjoyed our stay at Glacier View! It was clean, well stocked - we wanted for nothing. The house sits above the bay as shown in the pictures. We probably took 300 pictures of the same view 😀...but it's hard not to! Catkin is a pleasure to deal with and clearly cares about her vacationers and wants to be sure you are happy. She is very responsive. Homer is only 12 miles away, so getting groceries and fresh fish is easy. Once you get back to the house you can just be in your own quiet world and be in awe of Alaska from your front porch!

The awesomeness of the location cant be put in to words. The Cabin was warm and very clean and better equipped than any rental we have ever been in. For example, there is both a charcoal and a propane grill. All the cooking tools and dinnerware you wold ever need, even a nut cracker for your crab. Catkin and her husband were very sweet and helpful, even when I called late in the evening. Again, the views are spectacular and seeing moose grazing on the property became 'old hat'. The property is private, so it's your own little slice of paradise.

Rexlax with a spectacular view
The cabin is very clean and absolutely beautiful with a breathtaking view. We saw a mama moose her her baby out of the living room window in the early morning. Our host Catkin was easy to communicte with. We highly recommend staying there..
