"Booked two nights on a whim , we both loved it the room was perfect they even made sure we had same room both nights . Food was fantastic as well great service dog friendly which was so good to see . We ran over into late check out and was late for breakfast the staff wasn't fazed at all 10/10 stay definitely recommend "

"Good welcome, room was lovely and warm and bedding clean and plenty of pillows and spotlessly clean towels. Nice touch of biscuits and chocolate. Great location and good price. Sadly there were signs of mould around the door and bathroom tiling could do with a more intense cleaning of the grout as orange/yellow build up, plus I shared the bathroom with two very large spiders that were well established as had webs in corners. Having said this, I would use the Wellington again as really convenient...

"Lovely, cosy pub hotel. Great food with a choice of menus, ranging from the tasting menu to simple (but very well done) pub fayre. We chose from the pub menu, special mention to the fish and chips, perfect! Accompanied by a good choice of drinks, with beer from the local Thornbridge brewery. Very handy spot for local attractions. We stayed for one night on a mini-break and the room was perfect. Lovely bedroom decoration, nicely fitted out bathroom with a decent sized bath and rainfall...

"We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. "This is a beautiful quiet cottage finished to a high standard with everything you need for a chilled relaxing holiday.Communication with Ray and Julie was great and the pool was an amazing addition to the cottage.The location is perfect for walking Dovedale 30 mins, Tissington trail 20 mins and the Old Dog Pub which was very welcoming 10 minutes walk.Cannot fault the whole package and would not hesitate to revisit in the future."
