"Nervous to visit after reading reviews. However, there is a lot of refurbishment going on. The downstairs looks fabulous and the car park/outside space is being worked on. The room was ropey, window held open with a block of wood and a pane of glass missing. Curtains not hanging correctly and a socket out. But, we arrived when they were busy and so checking in was delayed. The staff apologised for wait, and the room! The breakfast was absolutely banging and the staff were exceptional. Helpful...

"Very enjoyable stay the hosts were very accommodating. First class breakfast. The whole place was so clean but not uncomfortable or clinical. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation. Would stay again. One minor criticism the room was terribly hot, but otherwise a brilliant find. "

"Check in was easy, arrived and the staff were very friendly and engaging, got shown the room which was beautifully presented. Had dinner, the food was delicious, service was excellent , we had a few drinks and went to bed, had a fabulous nights sleep in a very comfy bed. Had breakfast (which was included) and I couldn’t fault it at all, all in all, had a wonderful stay and would very highly recommend."

"A beautiful place to stay. Our room was so clean and bright with wonderful facilities. A nice quiet location but near enough to the town. Our hosts were great and the breakfast was superb. I can't wait to visit again."

"This was a beautiful dated building, not your conventional place to stay but i would most definitely return, service was amazong, so friendly and efficient, this was for my wedding, one night before and night of, the jacuzzi bath was fantastic and both my son and my wife loved it, good for us bigger lads who cants normally enjoy a bath, very low ceilings but there are warnings in all the night places, would highly recommend if you want a peaceful retreat, the breakfast was amazing and good...

"No heating and cheap duvet = freezing cold unable to sleep. No bedside table or bedside light. No seating or "work/eating desk". Small sink in bathroom too small to fill kettle, no plug in sink. Only one light switch in the room (by the entry door). Good mood lighting but got the impression that hourly rates might be available! Didn't stay for breakfast ..... "
