Porters Court, accessed via a security gate, is in a peaceful and tranquil setting, yet right in the heart of the west coast of Barbados. A fabulous safe, sandy beach, one of the best on the island, restaurants and bars are all a 4 minute stroll away (door to beach).
The fabulous and famous Lone Star is a 5 minute walk away and they serve cocktails, breakfast, lunch and dinner. JuJu beach bar serves lunches, early suppers and sundowners and is a 5 minute walk away. Porters Court is opposite the Royal Fairmount Hotel – with its good restaurant and bar – again perfect for sundowners.

Holetown has a large, newly refurbished supermarket (selling some Waitrose items), an excellent local butcher, fruit and veg stalls, restaurants, bars, beach cinema and shopping – from international designer shops to shops selling local handicrafts and clothing. A 25 min walk or 5 min drive / bus journey away.

Speightstown to the north is about 10 minute drive/bus journey away and has a more traditional feel with a range of shops, bars, restaurants and of course – a beach.

The Sandy Lane golf course is about 4 miles away and other local courses include Westmoreland and Apes Hill.

There is no need to hire a car because you can catch the local bus from a bus stop on the main road 2 minutes walk away (via private path) from Porters Court. Buses are frequent during the day and early evening and run from Speightstown in the north to Bridgetown and beyond in the south. Local buses are great fun and cheap ($2 Bbd for any distance) and will take you to most places on the island. If you decide to hire a car, the villa has its own free parking space, right outside the front door. A car can be delivered to the villa or be collected from the airport.

A team of people work hard to keep Sandy Lodge looking lovely and to welcome you to your holiday home. We can arrange to get shopping before your arrival . Our housekeeper will make sure that the villa is clean and well equipped during your stay. We provide cleaning and fresh linen and towels before your stay and weekly during visits of 10 days or longer. If you require more frequent cleaning this too can be arranged for you, at a small extra cost.

Prices states include 10% Tourism levy.

We sincerely hope that you will enjoy all that this lovely part of the world has to offer.

True wonderful stay
My brother and I stayed at this perfect villa for Christmas. The split en suite bedroom layout was perfect. The villa was clean, comfortable and more than enough open space for us. The location was wonderful. The villa is set in a small community of others around pool area. Was peaceful and quiet. It’s a short walk to the beach and lonestar restaurant. Highly recommend staying here !! And looking forward to coming back!! The owners were wonderful too!!

The most wonderful holidays
It's a place to be! It was our first time in Barbados and staying at Angela & Richard's place only added to the great experience we had. The property is perfectly located - easy walking distance to bus stops and the beach. If you have a car, you can get to the city centre and to a fish market very quickly. The property itself is clean, cosy and everything you need for your stay is there. All you need to do is get some groceries. Breakfasts and dinners on the veranda are perfect. I could go on and on and on... Anyway, I couldn't recommend this place more! Book it quickly and enjoy your getaway.

A wonderful holiday
We loved our time at Porters Court... the property is exactly as described, it is a really charming little house in a great area with easy access to the local beaches and beach bars. The swimming pool is great too and really convenient being right on the doorstep of the property itself. We stayed there with our 16month old daughter and it was ideal being able to relax poolside while she was asleep! All of the amenities were great and whilst we decided not to get a car, the busses go from the main road and are very frequent. Holetown is a short distance one way and Speightstown the other way. There are great local options for food with the Lonestar just over the road and Juma's a little further on. And there is also a lovely patisserie a 10min walk towards Holetown. The hosts were great and arranged a light shopping list for us so that we had food upon arrival. Communication was really good throughout and Tonya the house-keeper saved us when Virgin Atlantic left our travel cot at Heathrow(!)... she managed to get us another cot at really short notice which really was a life-saver! Maxine the housekeeper is also great and our little girl took a real shine to her. Overall we loved it and were already discussing our next visit before we left! Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed...

I highly recommend this property
My family rented this beautiful house over this past Christmas. The house itself is just lovely, the decor is stylish, everything has been carefully thought out and there is nothing you will want for. The owners are super friendly and helpful, really fast at getting back to you should you have any questions. The house keeper Maxine is so sweet and also made our stay really seamless and wonderful. In short I can’t say enough nice things about this property… absolutely a 10 out of 10! We will be renting it again. It’s perfect!

Holiday under covid
The villa is nice and in a very quiet area. We would probably have enjoyed it more had we not been under quarantine rules. This restricted us a lot. We were frustrated that we couldn’t sit by the pool, which was 6 steps away from our patio and there was no one else around. Social distancing could easily have been put in place. If we had known this beforehand, we would have booked a villa with a private pool. There is only shade to sit in if you are a sun worshipper, and you are stuck in that for 5 days. It is a pretty property though and handy to all you need, once you escape quarantine. We didn’t see or hear the property manager, other than once we needed to contact her. A check in call would have been appreciated. Little overpriced for what you get.

The perfect home away from home
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The location was perfect - just a couple of mins walk to the beach. There is a lovely bakery just along the road as well as a small grocery store. Lonestar is a lovely restaurant for eating and there are a few others on the beach which are great for something less formal such as Ju Jus. You can hire comfy beach beds and umbrellas from Rico at the beach. Holetown is just a few mins by car and has a supermarket and lots more places to eat. We would recommend Tides for a special night out. The house itself has everything you would need and is extremely comfortable. We spent nearly all of our time when we were home on the veranda or at the lovely pool which us literally five steps from this property! Richard and Angela were excellent hosts and the information pack we received in advance was the most comprehensive we have seen in over 30 years of staying at vacation rentals. They also arranged shopping to be delivered to us since we were in quarantine for a couple of days on arrival. All in all, just the perfect home away from home, in a wonderful location! We hope we get the chance to return to Barbados and we would definatrly stay here again!

Outstanding Accommodation with everything you could need
Location was great, really handy for the beach. No need to take anything with you apart form flip flops and shorts etc. as everything is provided. Perhaps your favorite tea bags. Beach is very nearby. Supermarket & Restaurants near by - a short bus ride away (regular service) or better yet get a hire car and explore the whole island as we did. Also useful for getting to and from Supermarket & Restaurants (not absolutely necessary but handy). Food prices similar to Uk although wine more expensive as imported and needs to be shipped to the island. Local Beers and produce on a par with UK. Fruit & Veg actually tastes like fruit and veg. really nice. Overall great place to stay and well looked after. Site Manager always available on the end of a phone and correspondence with owner excellent.

Wonderful property and amazing vacation!
Sandy Lodge was even better than we expected! From day 1 the villa was spotlessly clean and beautiful. It was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 young adult boys. Rooms are spacious, and the amenities were very well appointed. Location was excellent, a very short walk to a beautiful beach and restaurants. Richard and Angela provided excellent information which we used everyday. We tried out many of the restaurant suggestions and drove to many of the beaches recommended in their guide. Tonya was also wonderful as a property manager, and we would highly recommend it! We would recommend you hire a car if you are adventurous and would like to see the island. We especially loved the great cuisine in the Island and even went to Oistin's fish fry on our last night. Thank you so much for making our stay in Barbados a truly memorable one, and Happy New Year!!

Couldn't have asked for better !
We just recently spent 2 weeks at this property. My wife & I traveled with 2 teenage girls and we had a superb time Communication from the owner prior to arrival was first class - always answering any queries and providing an excellent information pack We made use of the transfers available to & from the airport as well as ordering some groceries on arrival to help us settle in quickly & stop us having to go shopping straight away - both of these options helped as we didn't hire a car & made use of the local buses (get the yellow ones as they're fantastic experience) The house itself was excellent, really well maintained and equipped with basically anything you could think of. We cooked in several nights and made good use of the fantastic wrap around porch . Something we made great use of was the small cool box provided which we used most days for the beach - excellent item to have and saved us quite a few £ by being able to make a lunch and bring it with us to the beach several different times The pool beside the property is literally half a dozen steps from the porch and we practically had this to ourselves most days we used it - this is a very quiet gated community which felt safe & secure and is only 5/10 minute walk to a beautiful local beach On the local beach we spent many lazy days - the girls used the Jet Ski's a few times and we made use of the local JuJu's beach shack which served cold beer, great cocktails & lovely food. Water was beautiful and the beach is big enough for a decent walk but also quiet enough to just chill out We ate out a few times in Holetown (about 5 minutes in the local bus) and this is a nice small village / town feel about it and the locals are extremely friendly & helpful. We also took a Catermaran cruise on Calabaza - amazing day out that was When we return we would potentially hire a car (maybe even for a few days) so we can drive to a more reasonably priced supermarket to stock up as the local supermarkets are quite expensive and you physically need ID to use your credit card in Massys - so make sure to bring it with you if going there ! Overall this was a truly great trip with the property and location playing a major part. We loved staying here and would 100% return if able to at some stage in the future Thanks again for having us Richard / Angela - you've a fantastic property and we hope to be back soon !

Excellent Barbados rental in great West Coast location (Porters, St James Parish)
First, you cannot beat the location. Easy walk to the the beach. Minutes from Holetown, which has everything you may need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, ATM, etc). Gated rental was nice, clean, quiet, and well pointed (especially kitchen). Worked great for our family of 4, as the king bed could be easily split into two twins. The pool was also a great bonus for the kids, and a relaxing swim in the late afternoon. We enjoyed the complimentary Mt. Gay Rum, along with the bread treat. Tonya gave us a nice welcome upon arrival, along with a review of the villa and amenities, and a few activities to consider during our stay. I recommend this rental, and plan to visit again in the future.

Fabulous!
We have just returned from two weeks staying at Sandy Lodge. We had a great holiday staying in this fabulous villa. The villa was spotlessly clean, tastefully and thoughtfully furnished and very well equipped. We spent much of our time on the verandah either relaxing or dining. The verandah faces the pool area, had a gas BBQ and is comfortably furnished. The en suite bedrooms are a generous size, with lots of storage and there's good powerful shower in the bathroom. Sandy Lodge is a 4 min walk from a beautiful sandy beach and 1 minute from the bus stop. We found the buses to be an easy and fun way to explore the island. Bars, restaurants ( notably The Lone Star) and shops are very easily accessible. The villa is in a development called Porters Court. This is a small development with 7 other villas, has pretty gardens, is very well kept, clean and felt very safe. The owners are easy to communicate with and very helpful. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful, well located villa - then look no further. This is the perfect choice!

Perfect rental villa in perfect Barbados location
My two teenagers and I stayed at Porters Court for Easter week and our holiday was great from beginning to end. Nicola, the owner, is super responsive and helpful before and during and after the stay. The property manager, Jeanine, is a dream come true -- she helped pre-arrange all sorts of things including grocery delivery before we arrived (order the banana bread -- her mother home-bakes it and it is delicious!), transport to and from the airport, a rental car to be delivered to and picked up from the villa, and a snorkeling cruise on our last day. She offered great suggestions on restaurants, shopping, things to do, local culture, the villa, beaches, places to go and things to see, etc. The villa itself is fresh and perfectly appointed - everything felt new and clean and thoughtfully provided. No need to bring bedding or towels -- hi quality bedding and bath towels and a good supply of lovely beach towels are there (and with the washer and dryer in the laundry room we could wash and dry laundry and beach towels as needed thru the week). The housekeeper cleaned only once during the week for us as much of the week was Easter holidays, but she was efficient and pleasant and did a good job. The grounds are private, secure, quiet, and beautiful. The pool, shared by only 7 other similar villas, is literally steps from the porch of Sandy Lodge and while the pool area is plenty big for sharing with other residents (some of whom were owners and some were renters like us), we hardly ever saw others wanting to use it at the same time that we did. A secure, gated and lit path leads from the pool to the road-crossing that leads to beautiful Alleynes Beach -- a 5 minute walk to the water at the most! Alleynes Beach is the perfect combination of beautiful, natural Caribbean beach and a bit of development so that there are watersport and lounger rentals available, and good food and drink (ranging from reasonable to WOW in price) right there on the beach. Porters Court is perfectly located -- you can walk to various bars and restaurants in minutes and Holetown, Speightstown and other destinations are a only a quick and easy drive away. We had a lovely, easy, fun and relaxing holiday and would not hesitate to recommend this villa to others!

Fabulous villa in a great location
4 Porters court is a fabulous villa in a gated community centred around a lovely pool, yet still only a few minutes from a fantastic beach. Villa was beautifully maintained with every mod con you could want for your stay and only steps from the pool are. Only a 20 minute walk to the centre of Hometown with shops, restaurants etc of if you are feeling adventurous, at the end of the path flag down a reggae bus for a quick and often lively trip to Hometown, Speightstown, Bridgetown etc. It was our first trip to Barbados and loved the island, the villa and the local life and will be returning to visit all 3 again in the future.

Everything you need for a truly relaxing time
Sandy Lodge offers everything you need, whether you have come to Barbados to chill out or to explore the riches of this fascinating island. The bedrooms are spacious, with en-suite facilities. The large, open-plan living area provides ample room to chat, watch TV or read (there is even a selection of books provided). WIFI is available. The kitchen is well-stocked with appliances and there is a separate, enclosed laundry area. We tended to go exploring in the morning, returning to relax by the pool in the afternoon, followed by a pre-dinner rum punch at Ju Ju’s on nearby Alleynes beach, looking out over the Caribbean. For dinner, we would generally self-cater (there is a barbecue on the verandah) or eat out at one of the local restaurants. Sight-seeing highlights included Hunte’s Gardens, St Nicholas Abbey plantation house and a rum-tasting at the Foursquare distillery. Sports-lovers can take a reggae bus down to Bridgetown for a day of cricket at the Kensington Oval or an afternoon at the races. A wonderful holiday in a charming and tranquil villa. Visit and you will return home truly chilled. Phil M August 2017
