Pipeline Chalet Mt Wellington is an architect designed residence, with privacy and a spectacular mountain environment on your doorstep, just 15 minutes from Hobart's CBD.
The kitchen has stone benches with stools and a gas cooktop with all the utensils to cook up a hearty meal. Our bathroom is tiled with a shower, and outside there is beautiful spotted gum deck with direct views to Mt Wellington and private views to the surrounding forest.
There is a smart TV with free streaming and wi-fi included, amid a living room heated by a heat pump, with forest and nature immediately outside - with a sun drenched outdoor living space with an open fire.
The mezzanine bedroom has a king bed, and there is a sofa bed that sleeps 2 persons in the living room. The Chalet is most suited to a couple or a couple with young children due to the sofa bed being in the living room. The Chalet is effectively one large room with a mezanine.
The bathroom has a walk in shower and is tiled. The Chalet is lit up with a romantic warm LED lights on light shelves around the building offering a calm and cosy ambience.
The Chalet has a private entrance along a forested walk from a secure off road car park to the Chalet - with wildlife specific to the Mountain on your doorstep - from the Paddymelon to an amazing range of endemic birds of the Mountain including the Black Parrot, Green Parrot and the shy Wattle Bird.
We have Barnevelder chickens (and Romeo the Rooster) and a large vegie garden and bush garden available for guests to explore and work in if interested.
The iconic Pipeliine Track is directly adjacent to the Chalet, with the Track winding over 10 kilometres around the back of Mt Wellington to the Crispin Springs track (which leads to Wellington Falls) and spectacular river walks up or down the North West River. It is also only a 30 minute walk up past the Silver Falls to reach the Springs, from where you can head off for a number of walks across the Mountain.
There is a local hotel (The Fern Tree Tavern) which features a cosy fire place and great meals, as well as the famous Longley Hotel just 20 minutes further along Huon Road from the Chalet. The wonderful Salad Bowl (operated by the wonderful Hill Street Grocer) is located in South Hobart on the way to the Chalet, which offers a delicious range of fresh, cooked and boutique food and wines.
We are only 30 minutes from Huonville and Franklin, the gateway to the Southern Forests, Cockle Creek and walks to the South West Wilderness. Cygnet and the Channel area is also nearby offering a wide range of food and wine experiences.
The Chalet has been designed by Singapore architect Ben Redmond.
